The Islanders have signed Tanner Fritz to a two-year contract extension.

Fritz spent most of the season with Bridgeport (AHL) where he had 12 goals and 25 assists, to rank seventh on the team in points (37). Fritz has limited NHL experience, scoring three goals and five assists (eight points) in 42 career games.

Fritz will draw into the Islanders lineup on Monday.

Fritz has yet to pick up a point in three games since being called-up after scoring 10 goals with 27 assists (37 points) in 32 games with the Sound Tigers (AHL). He will replace Casey Cizikas (upper-body) tonight in Montreal.

Fritz is a 26-year-old undrafted free agent who is in his second full AHL season after four years at Ohio State University and half of a season in the ECHL. This year, Fritz has compiled 10 goals and 25 assists (35 points) in 29 AHL games and will replace Alan Quine in the lineup tonight.
