Todd Bertuzzi News

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Detroit Red Wings forward Todd Bertuzzi had his first full practice in two weeks today and might return to the lineup Saturday against the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center (4 p.m., Fox Sports Net Detroit).

Bertuzzi could play tomorrow and would be slotting into the top line. Prior to getting hurt he scored a goal and three points over 11 games this season.

Bertuzzi sat out for the fifth consecutive game Tuesday because of swelling in his ear and dizziness. He has resumed off-ice workouts but hasn’t started skating again. He is not likely to return during a four-game road trip that concludes Sunday in Anaheim.

The new target date for his return looks like Wednesday, November 23rd. Prior to getting hurt he scored a goal and three points over 11 games this season. Expect the controversial lineup to stay out the lineup until then.

Bertuzzi did not practice Monday. He has missed four games (swelling in ear, dizziness). He'll make the trip in hopes of practicing but probably won't be ready to play until the team returns home.

Bertuzzi has missed four games with swelling in his ear and a sinus infection but is improving and might return to practice on Monday. But he still is several days away from being able to play.

Bertuzzi remains out of the lineup so make sure to keep him on your bench. The controversial winger has a goal and three points over 11 games this season.

DETROIT -- Detroit Red Wings forward Todd Bertuzzi was back on the ice Thursday for practice, but only the first half of it. He's still trying to get over some dizziness and a sinus infection and won't play in the next two games, Friday against Edmonton (7:30 p.m.) and Saturday vs. Dallas (7 p.m.), both at home.

Bertuzzi apparently lost some weight during his bout with illness and needs a few days to regain his strength. The controversial winger has a goal and three points over 11 games this season.

DETROIT -- Detroit Red Wings forward Todd Bertuzzi and Jiri Hudler did not practice Monday and probably won't be available for Tuesday's game against Colorado Avalanche at Joe Louis Arena (7:30 p.m., Fox Sports Net Detroit).

Make sure to keep either player out of your lineup tomorrow. Big Bert scored a goal and three points over his first 11 games, playing primarily on the third line.

It took him several weeks to recover, but he has felt good in training camp and hopes the injury doesn’t cause him to lose his physical edge.

Bertuzzi has averaged 17 goals and 28 assists over his two seasons as a Red Wing. If your league has a deeper roster, then the power forward can chip in with both points and penalty minutes.
