Hamonic left Wednesday’s game with a groin strain and did not return.

Head coach Glen Gulutzan said they took Hamonic out of the game as a precaution so it doesn’t sound like his injury is overly serious. The Flames have not ruled Hamonic out for Friday’s game so monitor his status over the next couple of days.

Hamonic (lower-body) will return to the Flames lineup on Monday.

Hamonic returns after a three-game absence but doesn’t bring a lot of fantasy relevance to the table. He doesn’t see any power-play time because of the other talented defensemen in Calgary and comes into Monday with just one goal and one assist in 13 games with the Flames.

The Flames acquired Travis Hamonic and a conditional 4th round pick from the Islanders for a 2018 1st round pick, 2018 2nd round pick and a conditional 2nd round pick on Saturday.

Hamonic’s name has been swirling on trade fronts for over a year, but the Islanders finally pulled the trigger on the draft floor on Saturday. Hamonic dealt with some injuries in 2016-17, but posted 14 points (3G / 11A) in the 49 games he was able to dress for. Hamonic has good size (6-foot-2/205lbs) and is a solid two-way defenseman who is both physical in his own end while possessing a big point shot at the other. The Flames are following the Predators’ model by stacking their blueline as Hamonic joins Mark Giordano, Dougie Hamilton and TJ Brodie as the Flames’ big-4.

The Islanders have activated Travis Hamonic (knee) from IR; expected to play on Friday.

Hamonic has been sidelined by a knee injury since January 8th, but activating him suggests that he will be in the lineup tonight. Hamonic has two goals and 10 assists (12 points) in 35 games this season and should be replacing Scott Mayfield in the lineup.

Hamonic (knee) has a "50-50" chance of playing on Thursday.

Hamonic has been sidelined with a knee injury since January 7th, but was on the ice for Tuesday’s practice and has a decent chance to be in the lineup on Thursday. Hamonic has two goals and 10 assists (12 points) in 35 games this season—monitor his status leading up to Thursday’s game.

Travis Hamonic
Hamonic (lower-body) will not play on Wednesday; listed as day-to-day.

As expected, Hamonic will be held out of tonight’s game vs. the Panthers. Adam Pelech will replace Hamonic on the Islanders’ top pairing with Nick Leddy. Head coach Jack Capuano said that Hamonic is likely to “miss a couple of games,” so don’t expect him to play on Friday or Saturday either.

Travis Hamonic
Hamonic (lower-body) is doubtful to play on Wednesday.

Hamonic is listed as day-to-day according to head coach Jack Capuano and said that “it doesn’t look like he’ll play [Wednesday]. [Adam] Pelech is going to get a chance.” Monitor Hamonic’s status prior to Friday’s game in Florida.

Hamonic (undisclosed) missed Monday’s practice; will be re-evaluated before Wednesday’s game.

Hamonic left Saturday’s game with an undisclosed injury and missed today’s practice because of it. He will be re-evaluated later on Monday and should be considered questionable for Wednesday’s game vs. the Panthers.

Travis Hamonic
Hamonic (arm) will return to the Islanders lineup on Monday.

Hamonic has missed the last three games with an arm injury, but he will give it a go tonight. Hamonic was expected to miss 4-6 weeks, but is just nine days removed from the injury. The Islanders will go with seven defensemen just in case Hamonic struggles with the injury. He has two goals and three assists (five points) in 12 games this season.

Travis Hamonic
The Islanders have placed Travis Hamonic (arm) on injured reserve.

Hamonic suffered a broken arm in Saturday’s loss to the Oilers and he is expected to miss approximately one month. Hamonic’s move to IR opened up a roster spot for the Islanders to recall Adam Pelech from Bridgeport (AHL). Hamonic’s injury likely means that Johnny Boychuk will move to the top pair with Nick Leddy.

Travis Hamonic
Hamonic (knee) will return to the Islanders lineup in Game 1.

Hamonic missed the final six games of the regular season with a knee injury, but will return to the lineup on Thursday. Hamonic, who plays very well at both ends of the rink, has picked up 21 points (5G / 16A) in 72 game this season.

Travis Hamonic

Hamonic suffered a lower-body injury after a knee-on-knee collision in Thursday’s win over the Blue Jackets. Hamonic will miss the rest of the regular season and will be re-evaluated before the playoffs start. Hamonic will be replaced by Marek Zidlicky in Saturday’s game.

Travis Hamonic
Hamonic (lower-body) will return to the Islanders lineup on Friday.

Hamonic has missed the last four games with a lower-body injury, but he will return to the lineup tonight in Ottawa. With Hamonic back in, Scott Mayfield will be a healthy scratch. Hamonic has two goals and six assists in 41 games this season.
