Wojtek Wolski News

All three Rangers currently on the team's Injured Reserve list---defenseman Marc Staal and forwards Mike Rupp and Wojtek Wolski---accompanied their teammates on Tuesday's trip to Florida, where the Blueshirts skate against the Panthers on Wednesday.

Wolski is likely still a few weeks away from getting back into the lineup but may start practicing when the team touches down in Florida.

Wojtek Wolski, who will miss his fourth straight game due to a groin injury tonight, reported after today's morning skate in Calgary that he is hoping to play Saturday night in Edmonton.

Wolski has apparently been spending a lot of time in the cold ice tub due to his sore groin. In his only game played -- the season opener -- the Polish winger was generally ineffective. Look for the team to ease him back into the lineup on a bottom line.

Wolski has missed every game since the season opener. While he played on the top line during the preseason he likely will return to play on the third line. Regardless, his absence has depleted the team's forward depth.

Wolski's groin is still too sore to lace them up but it is certainly a good sign that he is back on the ice. Derek Stepan has taken his place on the top line. Look for Wolski to alternate between the first and third line when he does return.

Wolski, who has been nursing a groin injury, was on the ice practicing Wednesday, but Tortorella believes Dubinsky's presence on the top line creates more balance, which is ultimately what the coach is striving for.

Sounds like Wolski will miss a few games. Despite scoring only 12 goals last season, the former 21st overall pick is only one season removed from a 23-goal, 65-point campaign. His bounce back season is somewhat in jeopardy if he cannot stay on the ice.
