Markstrom is coming off a solid outing, saving 20 of 22 shots (.909 SV%) in a 5-2 win over the Minnesota Wild and will return to the crease on Wednesday, looking to record consecutive victories for the first time in over six weeks. The 35-year-old Markstrom has been mostly inconsistent this season, posting a 3.41 GAA and .879 SV% in 23 games (11-10-1). Still, the Devils enter Wednesday's contest as -136 home favorites against a Seattle Kraken team that is coming off a 4-2 win over the New York Rangers.

Kovacevic recently made his season debut after knee surgery and will be a healthy scratch on Wednesday as he continues to acclimate to game speed. Simon Nemec will draw back into New Jersey's lineup as Kovacevic's replacement.

Nemec was a healthy scratch in New Jersey's most recent game, but he will return to the lineup on Wednesday against the Seattle Kraken. The 21-year-old Slovak defenseman is having a solid season, with 18 points (7G / 11A) in 33 games, but has gone scoreless and is minus-2 in two games since returning from a prolonged injury. Johnathan Kovacevic will be a healthy scratch to accommodate the Devils' lineup change.

Markstrom is coming off an awful team effort, where he was left between the pipes for all nine goals in an embarrassing 9-0 loss to the New York Islanders. The 35-year-old Markstrom is pacing for the worst season of his career, with an ugly 3.48 GAA and .878 SV% through 22 appearances (10-10-1). That said, Markstrom was actually stringing together a solid stretch before allowing nine goals on 24 shots (.625 SV%), posting a 1.85 GAA and .941 SV% in his previous four games (2-2-0).

The Devils hope to snap a three-game losing skid on Sunday, turning to Allen to tend the twine against the Winnipeg Jets. The 35-year-old Allen has lost two straight (0-2-0), allowing three or more goals in each, but he has been reliable most of the season, posting a solid 2.61 GAA and .909 SV% in 23 games (11-10-1). The Devils enter Sunday’s contest as +110 road underdogs.

MacEwen has been out since November 12th and recently underwent ACL surgery and will be out indefinitely. His season ends with zero points in three games.

Noesen will "undergo knee surgery next week to address a lingering injury" according to the Devils. Noesen will be placed on IR and is out indefinitely. He enjoyed a breakout 2025 campaign, but has just seven points (3G / 4A) in 38 games this season.

The Devils will unsurprisingly turn to Allen between the pipes tonight after Jacob Markstrom was tagged for nine goals in Tuesday's embarrassing loss on Long Island. Allen himself took the loss in his last start, allowing three goals on 29 shots in a 3-1 loss to the Hurricanes on Sunday. The 35-year-old netminder is enjoying another successful season as New Jersey's backup, logging an 11-9-1 record and a .911 SV% across 22 appearances. Allen and the Devils enter action on Thursday at -105 on the money line.

Nemec has not played in nearly a month because of an undisclosed injury, but he will return to the lineup on Thursday against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The 21-year-old Slovak defenseman was having a solid season from New Jersey's blueline before his injury, scoring 18 points (7G / 11A) in 31 games.
