Adam Fox wins the Norris Trophy

Adam Fox has been named the winner of the 2021 Norris Trophy for the NHL’s top defenceman.
Fox finished voting with 743 points, edging out Colorado’s Cale Makar who had 655 points and Victor Hedman of the Lightning who had 433 points.
In just his second season in the league, Fox scored 47 points over 55 games and led the Rangers with 24:42 time on ice per game. Makar, who beat out Fox in Calder Trophy voting for rookie of the year last season, put up 44 points in 44 games.
With the win, Fox becomes the first New York Rangers defenceman to win the Norris Trophy since Brian Leetch, who did so in both 1992 and 1997. He’s also only the second-ever player to win the Norris in one of his first two seasons in the league, joining Hall of Famer Bobby Orr.
