Alexander Radulov is Obviously Worth a Waiver Claim

Alexander Radulov is officially a non-suspended member of the Nashville Predators. Last week, head coach Barry Trotz was famously quoted as saying he will believe Radulov’s return when he sees the whites of his eyes. Well, Barry, you certainly saw those chocolate, brown eyes yesterday. Trotz hopes to get the superstar back into the lineup tomorrow night against the Pittsburgh Penguins for those wondering about his upcoming status.

If you were previously unfamiliar with Radulov, here’s the skinny. He’s the best player outside of the NHL, and now he’s back in the world’s best league. He dominated the KHL for the past four years and is honestly very likely to return there next season. Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean he can’t help you out for the next nine games.

Using Gabe Desjardin’s League Equivalency table, the KHL is roughly 91 percent of the NHL in terms of production. Considering Radulov scored at 1.26 point-per-game pace, he should be able to at least play at a point-per-game rate in North America. So, nine points in nine games is obviously worth your waiver claim– if you haven’t used it this late in the season, you really should; after all, it’s not like Peter Forsberg is making yet another comeback.

To summarize, Radulov is good. You should want him on your team. If for some reason you disagree, re-read the article.
