1/3/12: According to Katie Carrera of The Washington Post, via Twitter, Semin will not play tonight. While coach Dale Hunter refused to go into the details of his winger’s injury, it seems like yesterday’s report of a right arm laceration was spot-on. While the injury is likely minor, we have no timetable for his return.

Alexander Semin was not spotted on the ice this morning. When questioned by local media, a Washington Capitals spokesperson claimed Semin was simply taking a maintenance day.

However, Katie Carerra of The Washington Post later learned that Semin was missing because of a laceration on his right arm. Considering head coach Dale Hunter adamantly denied the rumors of an injury, Semin is certainly questionable for tomorrow night’s tilt against the Calgary Flames.
