The Tampa Bay Lightning emerged from the bubble as Stanley Cup champions for 2020, but it’s a team that crashed out of the postseason in the second round that leads those betting futures at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com for next season.

The Colorado Avalanche are the early +650 favorites on the 2021 Stanley Cup odds at sportsbooks, and they’ll be looking for a much better result after getting knocked out by the Dallas Stars in the second round of this year’s postseason. The Avalanche ran into injury issues and fell to the Stars in seven games; Dallas went on to the Stanley Cup Final.

The Lightning are then the +700 co-favorites on the odds to win the Stanley Cup next season at online sports betting sites along with the Vegas Golden Knights. Tampa Bay got past Dallas in six games in the Stanley Cup Final, despite having captain Steven Stamkos on the ice for just three minutes in the entire postseason. Victor Hedman was the Conn Smythe winner.

The Golden Knights fell in just five games to the Stars in the Western Conference Final, after getting past the Chicago Blackhawks and the Vancouver Canucks in the first two rounds of the playoffs. Vegas’ key offseason decision will be between the pipes, with Robin Lehner an unrestricted free agent after he took the starter’s job from incumbent Marc-Andre Fleury.

The Boston Bruins are next up on those NHL odds at +1200, followed by the Toronto Maple Leafs at +1500, both the Philadelphia Flyers and the Washington Capitals at +1600, and the Pittsburgh Penguins at +1800. The Penguins were shocked by the Montreal Canadiens in the qualifying round in four games and have already started making moves this offseason, adding forwards Kasperi Kapanen and Colton Sceviour and defenseman Michael Matheson.

The Stars join the St. Louis Blues, Canucks, Edmonton Oilers, and New York Rangers at +2000 on the Stanley Cup odds for 2021, with the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Islanders at +2500, the Calgary Flames and Nashville Predators at +3000, and the Winnipeg Jets at +3500. The Arizona Coyotes sit at +4000 odds to win the Stanley Cup next season.

Rounding out the betting futures are the Blue Jackets, Panthers, Wild, and Devils at +5000, the Canadiens and Sharks at +6000, the Ducks, Sabres, Blackhawks, and Kings at +8000, the Senators at +10000, and the Red Wings at the bottom of the pile at odds of +20000.
