Avalanche defenseman Tom Preissing will be out of action for 4 to 6 weeks following arthroscopic knee surgery. Preissing was traded to Colorado last season from LA along with Kyle Quincey for Ryan Smyth. Preissing was a valuable fantasy defenseman before he joined the Kings. He had 43 points in 05/06 with San Jose and was plus-40 with 38 points in 06/07 playing for Ottawa. I would stay away from him this year, even without the injury.
