Brad Marchand racks up 14 PIM with acting performance

No matter what you think of pesky Boston Bruins’ forward Brad Marchand, this was pretty funny.

Marchand was called for a debatable high-sticking penalty on Predators forward Colton Sissons during Saturday’s game at Bridgestone Arena.

The Boston agitator certainly thought it was a dive, as he mocked Sissons’ reaction to the high stick multiple times on his way to the penalty box. He received another penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct and was eventually handed a 10-minute misconduct for his actions.

Two PIM for the high-stick, two for unsportsmanlike conduct and 10 PIM for the misconduct. That’s a costly 14 PIM by Marchand, as the Bruins were trailing 1-0 in a tight game at the time of the original call.

The 30-year-old is a great offensive talent, but it seems like he may never give up his antics. Through 12 games this season, Marchand has racked up four goals and 15 points to go with a healthy 32 PIM.

Going by that acting imitation, Marchand was ready to hand out an Academy Award in Nashville tonight.
