Brady Tkachuk scores first NHL goal

Brady Tkachuk scores first NHL goal

It wasn’t pretty, but Brady Tkachuk will take it.

Tkachuk potted his first NHL goal Wednesday evening against the Philadelphia Flyers. Keith, Matthew and Brady Tkachuk have now all scored their first career NHL goal against the Flyers.

Tkachuk appeared to kick/ re-direct the puck past goaltender Calvin Pickard during a sequence in the first period. Tkachuk didn’t even realize he had scored until he was later credited with the tally.

Tkachuk was taken by the Senators fourth-overall in the 2018 NHL Draft and is viewed as a key piece in Ottawa’s ongoing rebuild.

The 19-year-old was held pointless in his NHL debut Monday, but looked very comfortable, registering two shots on goal and three hits.

Historically, it hasn’t taken long for the Tkachuk’s to get on the board. Keith Tkachuk scored in his fifth career NHL game, while Matthew Tkachuk got his first in his fourth NHL game. Brady wins this one with his first in game number two.

It’s an ugly goal, but fitting for Brady Tkachuk, who is expected to turn into a mean, gritty and effective player at the NHL level.
