Last night, Minnesota Wild defenseman Brent Burns butt-ended Florida Panthers forward Steve Bernier after the final buzzer. Β Although apologetic the 25-year-old defenseman could face a suspension regarding the hit and Bernier could have a broken cheekbone from the incident.
In an attempt to not reinvent the wheel, Sean Leahy of Puck Daddy has it covered.
This news comes as a bit of bad luck as Burns struggled with injuries and inconsistency over the years but now has nine points through his first 15 games. Β His five goals are tied for the League lead in goals for a defenseman.
Stay tuned as we will continue to update this story as it progresses.
