Byfuglien May Be Used More on Defense
Aug 27, 2010, 11:29 EDT

It appears as if Dustin Byfuglien may be getting primed to play more minutes on defense for his new team this season. GM Rick Dudley hinted to Chris Vivlamore that it’s a real possibility that Byfuglien could switch to defense this season and be a large part of the Thrasers’ powerplay – meaning good news for those looking to draft Byf. That said, however, it’s still up in the air as defense may be Byfuglien’s preference but in the end it’s all up to coach Craig Ramsay.
Depending on how quick your league is with position eligibility, you could be owning a guy that will be on the ice in key scoring situations – likely as a big body in front of the net – but lines up on your blueline.
