Carolina Hurricanes acquire Vincent Trocheck from Florida Panthers for Erik Haula, Lucas Wallmark, prospects

The Carolina Hurricanes made a big move to secure their forward ranks Monday acquiring F Vincent Trocheck from the Florida Panthers.

In the trade, the Panthers acquired F Erik Haula, F Lucas Wallmark, and prospects Eetu Luostarinen and Chase Priskie.

Trocheck, 26, has appeared in 55 games for the Panthers this year scoring 10 goals and another 26 assists. Haula, meanwhile, has scored 12 goals and 10 assists in 41 games.

The 28-year-0ld was in his first year with the Carolina Hurricanes after playing with the Vegas Golden Knights and Minnesota Wild.

Wallmark, 24, has appeared in 60 games this year scoring 11 goals and another 12 assists. The 24-year-old was drafted by the Hurricanes in the fourth round of the 2014 NHL draft.

Luostarinen was drafted by the Hurricanes in the second round of the 2017 draft. He’s in the midst of his first year playing hockey in North America and has played 44 games with the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers scoring eight goals and 17 assists.

Priskie, 23, a 2016 sixth-round pick, was appeared in 52 games for the Checkers scoring 31 points.

Trocheck has two years left on a six-year contract paying him an AAV of $4.75-million.
