Chris Pronger to make season debut

UPDATE #3: According to Sam Carchidi of Broad St. Bull, Pronger will suit up for his season debut.  He was also apparently very grumpy, so condolences to any Colorado Avalanche he may encounter.  In all seriousness, update your lineups and slot him in.

UPDATE #2:  Andy Strickland of TrueHockey.com notes that Pronger will not play against St. Louis.

UPDATE #1:  The following comes from Sam Carchidi of Philly.com:

Defenseman Chris Pronger is doubtful for Saturday’s game in St. Louis. “We’re not going to push him in the lineup until he feels like he’s ready,” Holmgren said. “Chris Pronger knows his body better than any of us, and we’ll just trust his judgment on this.” .

Yesterday, star defenseman Chris Pronger was a gametime decision.  Today, he is confirmed as out of the lineup by Sam Carchidi, via Twitter.

We thought he might miss some time just due to the severity of his injury and how it will take a toll on his actual ability.  Pronger tabbed as almost considered ready seems like an encouraging sign as the team has not placed him on injured reserve.

Oskars Bartulis will take his place in the lineup.
