The Columbus Blue Jackets are without top rearguard Seth Jones after he suffered an ankle injury Saturday night.

The club announced they placed Jones on the injured reserve and say he is out indefinitely.

According to Columbus Dispatch reporter Brian Hedger, Jones crashed into the net in the 1st period of their game against the Colorado Avalanche.

“(Jones’) leg appeared to catch in the netting and twist his right leg awkwardly. Came back out for the start of the second, scored a PPG and finished the game, but was tight-lipped on the inj[sic] afterward,” Hedger wrote on Twitter.

Jones closed out the game having played 23 minutes which is impressive given what appears to be a serious injury.

In 56 games this year, Jones has scored six goals and 24 assists.
