Daily Deke: Yotes are howling for their seventh straight win

The Phoenix Coyotes are surging up the Pacific Division standings thanks to their six-game winning streak.  They’ll look to make that seven in a row when they host the Edmonton Oilers later this evening.

Although the Yotes have found scoring from odd players such as Radim Vrbata and Lauri Korpikoski, it’s been Ilya Bryzgalov who’s been the MVP for Phoenix thus far.  Bryzgalov is 6-0-2 during the month of November thus far and has a .924 SV%.  Bryz has been a busy man this season, as he currently ranks third in the NHL for most shots against with 591, but has also saved the third most shots in the NHL with 543.

While defenseman Ed Jovanovski is a game-time decision, the team has recalled rookie Oliver Ekman-Larsson.

The Edmonton Oilers have some different looking lines for tonight’s game, as they try to avoid another loss on the road.

Devan Dubnyk figures to see a bulk of the starts going forward, with Nikolai Khabibbulin on IR with a groin injury.
