Senators at Islanders | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Islanders -280 Favorites

The Islanders have lost two games in a row, falling two points behind the Washington Capitals for the lead in the Metropolitan Division standings. The Senators continue to have the NHL’s worst record, although they managed to pick up a 3-2 road victory against the Florida Panthers on Sunday as +225 underdogs to snap a seven-game losing streak. Ottawa has not won two straight games since February 7-9 against the Anaheim Ducks and Winnipeg Jets.

Hurricanes at Bruins | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Bruins -155 Favorites

The Bruins are riding a three-game winning streak and have won 10 of 11 dating back to February 9. After winning four of their first five games of a recent road trip, they have followed suit at home by taking the first three of a six-game homestand. The Hurricanes have overtaken the Pittsburgh Penguins for third place in the Metro thanks to a five-game winning streak. Carolina closed at -110 or higher in all five games, and that will not be the case here.

Blue Jackets at Devils | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Blue Jackets -160 Favorites

The bad news for the Blue Jackets is that they are currently on the outside looking in at a Wild Card spot, dropping their last two games to move two points behind the Penguins and Montreal Canadiens. The good news for them is the Devils have lost three consecutive games by a combined score of 9-4, and they have won the past six meetings in the series with the UNDER cashing in the last four.

Panthers at Penguins | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Penguins -190 Favorites

The Panthers have fallen apart recently, suffering through a four-game skid where all of the losses have been decided by exactly one goal, including three after regulation time. The Penguins are coming off a 5-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens as +105 underdogs to close out a four-game road trip but have won consecutive games only twice since February 1.

Jets at Lightning | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Lightning -175 Favorites

The Lightning have all but wrapped up the Presidents’ Trophy, but they still do not want to take their foot off the pedal in the final month of the regular season. They will be facing a potential Stanley Cup final opponent in the Jets, who have won two in a row and gone 3-2 in the past five meetings. Winnipeg is just 6-5-2 versus Atlantic Division foes this season though, so that bodes well for the home team.

Wild at Predators | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Predators -190 Favorites

The Wild saw their five-game winning streak come to an end in a 3-2 home loss to the Predators as +115 underdogs on Sunday, and now they will try to get back on track in the opener of a three-game road trip against the same team. Nashville has won three in a row in the series, but the stronger trend is the UNDER at 4-0-1 in the past five meetings.

Rangers at Stars | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Stars -180 Favorites

The Rangers are mired in a four-game losing streak and have nothing to play for down the stretch. The Stars have won two straight and are still fighting for a playoff spot in a competitive Western Conference where they are currently holding on to one of the two Wild Cards. New York won the lone meeting between the teams this season 2-1 at home on November 19.

Red Wings at Avalanche | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Avalanche -205 Favorites

The Avalanche remain in the mix for a Wild Card spot in the West despite a two-game losing streak, making this an important game to win at home. The Red Wings have dropped seven games in a row to move closer to the bottom of the NHL standings. Only Ottawa is worse than Detroit at the moment, and Colorado has won the past three meetings in the series.

Ducks at Coyotes | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Coyotes -155 Favorites

The Coyotes are hoping to parlay their hot streak into a playoff spot. After winning a season-high six straight games, Arizona is within two points of a Wild Card. The Coyotes have scored three goals or more in each game during their winning streak while the Ducks have scored two or less five times in dropping five of six. The home team has lost the past four meetings.

Canadiens at Kings | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Canadiens -120 Favorites

The Kings have been bad overall this year but the worst against opponents from the Atlantic Division with a dismal 2-9-3 mark. The Canadiens have been on the opposite end of the spectrum against the Pacific with an impressive 10-3 record. But Los Angeles has won the previous three head-to-head matchups – all as an underdog – including two road shutouts.
