Sharks at Blackhawks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Blackhawks -145 Favorites

The Blackhawks will try to end a two-game skid Wednesday when they host the Sharks with their postseason chances on life support. Chicago has been outscored 4-1 combined in losses to the Detroit Red Wings and St. Louis Blues – with the UNDER cashing easily in both games – after a four-game winning streak. The Blackhawks remain in the cellar of the Central Division with 70 points, eight behind the last playoff spot in the West. Meanwhile, San Jose is even further back, sitting only one point ahead of the last-place Los Angeles Kings in the conference standings. The Sharks have lost three games in a row and eight of 11, and they begin a four-game road trip versus Central Division opponents here. But San Jose has won six of the past seven meetings with Chicago.

Jets at Oilers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Oilers -150 Favorites

The Oilers are hoping to have captain Connor McDavid back on the ice when they host the Jets in a key Western Conference matchup. McDavid missed Monday’s 3-2 overtime loss to the Vegas Golden Knights for Edmonton as a -115 home favorite due to illness, and NHL scoring leader Leon Draisaitl was also shockingly held without a shot for the first time this season. With a league-best 206 points for two teammates, the Oilers will likely need at least one of them to produce in order to bounce back. Winnipeg has quietly won three straight games to put themselves into contention for one of the West’s two Wild Card playoff spots, with the UNDER on a 4-1 run as well. The Jets saw the Nashville Predators and Vancouver Canucks both pull even with them in the standings though with 78 points after wins Tuesday.

Rangers at Avalanche | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Avalanche -155 Favorites

The Avalanche will look to rebound from yet another loss to an underdog when they host the Rangers. Colorado’s last three losses and 11 of its previous 12 have come as a favorite, the latest being a 3-1 setback to the Los Angeles Kings on Monday as -145 road chalk. This disappointing play has prevented the Avalanche from tying the St. Louis Blues for first place atop the Central Division multiple times during that stretch. New York is still chasing a Wild Card playoff spot in the East, sitting just three points out after a big victory in the first game of a back-to-back situation. The Rangers had lost four of five before upsetting the Dallas Stars 4-2 Tuesday as +145 underdogs, with the OVER cashing for the seventh time in eight games, and they have also won four of five when playing the second game of a back-to-back.

Senators at Kings | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Kings -157 Favorites

The streaking Kings will attempt to win their seventh game in a row when they host the Senators. Los Angeles has been perfect since the NHL trade deadline with six consecutive wins, and the UNDER cashing five times during the winning streak. Ottawa has been solid as well over the same stretch with four wins in six games, and the OVER on a 5-1 run. However, the Senators fell 5-2 to the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday as +120 underdogs, and they have lost five of the last six times they have played the second game of a back-to-back situation.

Blues at Ducks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Blues -182 Favorites

The Ducks will also be playing in a back-to-back situation here when they host the Blues in a make-up game from February 11. The teams were tied 1-1 in the first period back then before St. Louis defenseman Jay Bouwmeester suffered a cardiac episode on the bench, causing a postponement until now. While Bouwmeester is still recovering, the Blues have rallied with nine wins in their last 11 games after losing five straight around that time. Anaheim beat Ottawa 5-2 Tuesday but has lost eight of 11 when playing the second game of a back-to-back.
