Hurricanes at Devils | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Hurricanes -175 Favorites
The Hurricanes will be going for their fourth straight win on Thursday when they visit the Devils in the finale of a six-game road trip. Carolina started the trip with consecutive losses to the Montreal Canadiens (as a -105 underdog) and Philadelphia Flyers (as a +110 dog) before rallying to win the last three games, with the OVER cashing in the past two. New Jersey is coming off a 5-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins as a +150 home underdog on Tuesday to end a two-game winning streak. The Devils have also seen the OVER cash in their last three games following an 8-0 UNDER run.
Flyers at Lightning | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Lightning -150 Favorites
The Flyers will try to avoid losing two games in a row for the first time since January 7 when they visit the Lightning. Philadelphia’s most recent losing streak started on December 31 and lasted four games, and the team saw its nine-game winning streak end with a 2-0 setback against the Boston Bruins in a pick’em home matchup on Tuesday. Tampa Bay will be looking to end a two-game skid at home after losing two of three on a three-game road trip. The Lightning open a three-game homestand here and have gone 22-10-2 at Amalie Arena.
Penguins at Blue Jackets | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Penguins -140 Favorites
The Penguins continue a key three-game road trip versus all Metropolitan Division foes when they visit the Blue Jackets. Pittsburgh won the opener of the trip 5-2 over the Devils on Tuesday as a -170 road favorite, with the OVER also improving to 4-0-1 in the team’s last five games. Columbus is still fighting for a Wild Card playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and halted a two-game losing streak with a 2-1 victory at the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday as a +130 road underdog. The UNDER is on a 3-0 run for the Blue Jackets as well.
Predators at Maple Leafs | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Maple Leafs -150 Favorites
The Maple Leafs hope to complete a 2-0 homestand in this spot when they host the Predators. Toronto edged Tampa Bay 2-1 on Tuesday as a -120 home favorite to end a three-game slide, with the UNDER cashing for the third straight game too. Meanwhile, Nashville continues a five-game road trip after winning the first two against Montreal (as a -115 favorite) and the Dallas Stars (as a +125 underdog), with the UNDER on a 3-1 run. The Predators are currently sitting in the second Wild Card spot in the West, just two points behind the first spot.
Golden Knights at Wild | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Golden Knights -130 Favorites
The injury-plagued Golden Knights will be seeking their second road win ever against the Wild after losing leading goal scorer Max Pacioretty to a lower-body injury. Pacioretty has totaled a team-high 32 goals and 66 points for Vegas, which is also missing Mark Stone (21 and 63). Still, the Pacific Division-leading Knights own a three-point lead over the Edmonton Oilers atop the Pacific Division as they try to win for the second time in five games at Xcel Energy Center and first with goalie Robin Lehner, who has gone 3-0 with them since arriving in a trade. Minnesota blanked Vegas 4-0 on February 11 as a +130 home underdog and has also won eight of its last 11 to put itself into contention for a Wild Card spot in the West.
Panthers at Stars | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Stars -140 Favorites
The Stars are riding a season-high six-game losing streak and in danger of ending the year the way they started it as they host the Panthers. Dallas began the regular season with a 1-7-1 record before rebounding to become the third-best team in the Central Division. Florida has won two games in a row after losing four straight and six of seven to stay in the Eastern Conference playoff race. The Panthers trail both the Blue Jackets and Hurricanes by three points for one of the two Wild Card spots, with the UNDER also on a 5-0 run in their games.
Islanders at Flames | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Flames -145 Favorites
The Islanders take a season-high seven-game losing streak to Calgary to battle the Flames. But unlike Dallas, New York put together a franchise-record 17-game points streak near the beginning of the year during an impressive 16-3-2 start. Those days are long gone though, as the Islanders are now on the brink of missing the postseason without a rebound. Calgary saw its three-game winning streak snapped with a 5-3 loss to Vegas on Sunday in a pick’em home matchup, and the OVER cashed for the first time in four games as well.
Canucks at Coyotes | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Coyotes -130 Favorites
An important Pacific Division clash will take place in Arizona when the Coyotes host the Canucks. Both teams are on the outside looking in on the two Wild Card spots in the Western Conference, although Vancouver trails Calgary by only one point for third place in the Pacific with one game in hand that could be the difference. Arizona is four more points back and will be looking to end a two-game losing streak. However, the last win for the Coyotes came versus the Canucks on the road and resulted in a 4-2 victory as a -105 underdog on March 4.
Also on today’s schedule: Sabres at Canadiens and Red Wings at Capitals.
