Blue Jackets at Bruins | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Bruins -151 Favorites

After surviving a seven-game series against the Maple Leafs the Bruins will face the Blue Jackets in the second round starting with Game 1 at home on Thursday night as betting favorites on the NHL odds at sportsbooks. Boston forced Game 7 against Toronto with a 4-2 Game 6 road victory as +110 underdogs, then got 32 saves from Tuukka Rask in a 5-1 home win as -145 Game 7 favorites. Those two games were both OVER results on the betting total.

The Blue Jackets, meanwhile, swept the Lightning in the first round after Tampa Bay had run away with the Presidents’ Trophy during the regular season. Columbus capped off that series victory with a 7-3 win as +115 home underdogs back on April 16, giving them plenty of rest heading into their best-of-seven set with Boston. Columbus is 11-1 over its past 12 outings.

Boston went 2-1 against Columbus during the regular season, and the teams have split their last 10 meetings 5-5. The OVER paid on the totals at sportsbooks in nine of those 10 games.

Stars at Blues | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Blues -149 Favorites

The Stars won three straight games to close out their first-round series with the Predators in six games, and now travel to St. Louis to face the Blues as underdogs in Game 1 of their series on Thursday night. Dallas had won the opener at Nashville, then lost two straight to the Predators before rallying for the series win, capped off by a slim 2-1 victory as -135 home favorites in Game 6 of the set on Monday night. Dallas has a 9-4 mark over its last 13 outings.

The Blues went up 2-0 on the Jets in their first-round series, lost the next two games, and then won two straight to wrap up the set in six games as well. St. Louis took the clincher with a 3-2 victory as -150 home favorites last Saturday, in the fourth UNDER result on the totals in the six-game series. St. Louis has managed to pick up a dozen wins over its last 16 games.

Dallas and St. Louis met four times during the regular season, with the Stars winning three of those games. St. Louis is just 4-6 over their past 10 meetings, with the OVER/UNDER 4-6.
