Islanders vs Panthers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Islanders -120 Favorites

The Islanders will take their second shot at closing out the Panthers on Friday when they take on the Panthers as small favorites. New York fell 3-2 to Florida on Wednesday as a -125 favorite, with Brian Boyle scoring what turned out to be the game-winning goal for the Panthers at the 2:48 mark of the third period, a little more than two minutes after Mike Hoffman put them up 2-1 just 41 seconds into the frame. The UNDER is 6-1-1 in Florida’s last eight games dating back to the regular season.

Predators vs Coyotes | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Predators -135 Favorites

The Predators will look to even up their qualifying round series with the Coyotes, who lead the best-of-five set 2-1 following an impressive 4-1 victory as a +110 underdog in Game 3 on Wednesday. The winner in each game of this series has scored exactly four goals, with the OVER going 2-0-1 so far. Arizona goalie Darcy Kuemper was outstanding in Game 3 as well, stopping 39 of 40 shots to rebound from Game 2 when he gave up four goals on 28 shots.

Penguins vs Canadiens | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Penguins -179 Favorites

The fifth-seeded Penguins are one of two teams facing elimination against the lowest seed in the conference as they battle the Canadiens in Game 4 of their series. Montreal leads 2-1 thanks to Jeff Petry’s goal 5:33 into the third period for a 4-3 victory as a +155 underdog. Petry also scored the game-winning goal in overtime of Game 1 for the Habs. This one could come down to Montreal netminder Carey Price and whether or not he can stop Sidney Crosby and company one more time.

Oilers vs Blackhawks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Oilers -143 Favorites

The other 12th-seeded team besides the Canadiens who can move on with another win is the Blackhawks, who will attempt to eliminate the host Oilers in their own building. Chicago edged Edmonton 4-3 in Game 3 as a +110 underdog on Wednesday, as the total went OVER for the third straight time. Surprisingly, it was the lowest-scoring game of the series after there were 19 goals in the first two combined. The past five meetings at Rogers Place have all been high-scoring affairs, averaging more than eight goals, with seven the lowest of those games.

Maple Leafs vs Blue Jackets | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Maple Leafs -156 Favorites

The Oilers are not the only host team that could be ousted in the qualifying round, with the Maple Leafs also trying to stay alive against the Blue Jackets. Toronto lost 4-3 to Columbus in overtime as a -150 favorite on Thursday, ending a string of five straight OVER results for each team. The Blue Jackets cashed as a +130 underdog and saw Pierre-Luc Dubois complete a hat trick with the game-winning goal 18:24 into OT. The Leafs have dropped five of their last seven.

Canucks vs Wild | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Pick’em -111 Odds

What started out so well for the Wild has gone downhill fast as they prepare to play the Canucks in another potential elimination game. Minnesota blanked Vancouver 3-0 in the opener of this series, with goalie Alex Stalock recording a 28-save shutout. Since then, the Wild have been outscored 7-3 in losing the next two, as Stalock has stopped 50 of 57 shots. Vancouver’s Jacob Markstrom got the shutout in Game 3 with 27 saves as a +105 underdog on Thursday, and his team has won three of four after dropping five of six toward the end of the regular season.
