Flyers at Devils | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Devils -119 Favorites

The Flyers will try to break a two-game skid in the finale of a three-game road trip against the Devils. Philadelphia has lost the first two games of the trip by a combined score of 12-4 to the New York Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins, with the total going OVER in the team’s last three. The Devils have been outscored 12-9 in losing their past two games as well, with the OVER cashing in both along with four of five at the sportsbooks.

Sabres at Capitals | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Capitals -175 Favorites

The Sabres will face one of their biggest tests of the young season when they visit the Capitals. Buffalo has alternated wins and losses in its last four games with losses to the New York Rangers and Arizona Coyotes during that stretch. Meanwhile, Washington has won two games in a row and six of seven, with the OVER on an 8-0 run dating back to October 14.

Lightning at Islanders | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Lightning -125 Favorites

The Lightning complete a three-game road trip versus the Islanders following a 7-6 overtime win against the Devils on Wednesday as a -125 favorite. Tampa Bay had lost two of its previous three games and three of four despite closing as a favorite each time. New York is riding a seven-game winning streak, with the team scoring exactly three goals four times during that stretch, and the UNDER going 4-2-1. The Islanders have lost four of the past five meetings with the Lightning though and 11 of 13 in the series dating back to 2016.

Red Wings at Hurricanes | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Hurricanes -250 Favorites

The Red Wings will go for their first two-game winning streak since the start of the season when they visit the Hurricanes. Detroit snapped an eight-game winless streak with a 3-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday as +100 home underdogs. Carolina has outscored the Chicago Blackhawks and Calgary Flames 6-1 in the first two games of a four-game homestand, with the UNDER cashing twice. The Hurricanes lost three straight before that.

Blue Jackets at Blues | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Blues -168 Favorites

The Blue Jackets hope to improve their defensive play and end a two-game skid when they visit the Blues. Columbus has been outscored 11-5 in losing two in a row to the Philadelphia Flyers and Edmonton Oilers, with the OVER going 3-1 in their last four. St. Louis has won four of five following a four-game losing streak, including a three-game home winning streak.

Stars at Avalanche | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Avalanche -140 Favorites

The Stars have won four of their last five games heading into a key Central Division matchup with the Avalanche following a disappointing 1-7-1 start. These were expected to be two of the best teams in the West going into the season, and Colorado has lived up to expectations with an 8-2-2 mark while Dallas has finally begun to turn things around. The Avalanche has won six of the past eight meetings in the series, with the UNDER cashing in four of the last five.

Canucks at Ducks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Ducks -116 Favorites

One of the Pacific’s biggest early-season surprises will look to extend their winning streak to three games in the second game of a three-game road trip through California when the Canucks visit the Ducks. Vancouver has also won four of six and eight of 10 since losing its first two games while Anaheim has headed in the opposite direction with losses in four of six. The Ducks have had the edge in this matchup lately, winning three of four and seven of nine.

Jets at Sharks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Sharks -140 Favorites

Two of the most disappointing teams in the West battle in San Jose when the Sharks host the Jets. San Jose begins a six-game homestand after going 1-3-1 on a five-game East Coast road trip. Winnipeg will be playing the first game of a back-to-back situation before visiting Vegas on Saturday. The Jets have dropped five of seven overall, and they have also lost the past two meetings with the Sharks at home. However, Winnipeg has won two straight in San Jose and is 3-1 the last four times the team has played the first game of a back-to-back.
