Rangers at Hurricanes | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Hurricanes -265 Favorites

The Hurricanes will be trying to break a two-game skid when they host the Rangers on Thursday after falling 4-1 to the Flyers in a pick’em matchup on Tuesday. In fact, they have been a streaky team most of this season, failing to put together consecutives wins or losses only twice so far in 15 games. New York has found less success in terms of wins and losses, but the team is coming off a 5-1 rout of Detroit as a -150 home favorite on Wednesday. However, the Rangers have lost 10 of 12 when playing the second game of a back-to-back.

Capitals at Panthers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Panthers -117 Favorites

The Capitals are one of the hottest teams in the league, winning eight of their last nine games thanks to a powerful offense that has also helped lead the OVER to an 8-1 mark during that stretch. But the Panthers are playing some of their best hockey of the season as well, winning three of their last four and five of seven, with the OVER on a 4-1-1 run in their previous six. Florida has won the past four meetings too.

Penguins at Islanders | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Islanders -131 Favorites

The Islanders are now riding a 10-game winning streak, as they continue to chase the franchise record of 15 in a row set during the 1981-82 season in the midst of their Stanley Cup championship run. After blowing past Ottawa 4-1 as a -265 home favorite on Tuesday though, Pittsburgh would appear to be a much more difficult opponent in this Metropolitan Division matchup. That said, the Penguins have dropped five of seven games overall and seven of nine to the Islanders, who swept them in the first round of last year’s playoffs.

Canadiens at Flyers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Flyers -125 Favorites

The Flyers have alternated wins and losses in their last four games while the OVER is on a 5-1 run in their previous six. The Canadiens take a brief road trip here before heading back home for two more games after they edged the visiting Bruins 5-4 as -105 underdogs on Tuesday. Montreal has won two straight versus Philadelphia following a five-game series skid.

Golden Knights at Maple Leafs | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Maple Leafs -125 Favorites

The Golden Knights continue a four-game East Coast road trip against the Maple Leafs after beating the Blue Jackets 2-1 as -140 favorites on Tuesday in the opener. Vegas goalie Marc-Andre Fleury was stellar between the pipes with 29 saves while winger Reilly Smith continued his fantastic season with both of the team’s goals to give him a team-leading nine overall. The Maple Leafs have won two games in a row with the OVER currently on a 3-1 run.

Canucks at Blackhawks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Blackhawks -105 Favorites

The struggling Blackhawks return home following a 1-3 road trip where the team closed as underdogs each time with the UNDER cashing three times. This once high-scoring club has also seen the UNDER go 9-2-1 in its last 12 since the OVER cashed in the first two. The Canucks have gone in the other direction with a 5-0-3 mark in their past eight, with two losses ending in overtime and another in a shootout. The OVER is on a 5-2 run for Vancouver.

Predators at Avalanche | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Predators -111 Favorites

The once-hot Avalanche have gone cold with five consecutive losses, and that has coincided with being without two key players on the top line in Mikko Rantanen and Gabriel Landeskog due to injuries. Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon cannot do everything on his own as much as he has tried as one of the NHL’s best players. The Predators will look to take advantage of this short-handed opponent as winners of five of seven overall and 16 of 20 in the series.

Wild at Sharks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Sharks -165 Favorites

The Sharks ended a five-game losing streak with a 4-2 win over the Blackhawks as -155 home favorites on Tuesday, defeating them for the second time among their five wins overall. Minnesota visits San Jose next in the second game of a four-game West Coast road trip after the team doubled up Anaheim 4-2 as a +110 underdog in the opener on Tuesday. The OVER is 4-1 in the Wild’s last five games overall, and they have lost three straight to the Sharks.

Also on today’s schedule: Kings at Senators, Blue Jackets at Coyotes and Devils at Flames.
