Senators at Hurricanes | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Hurricanes -250 Favorites

The Senators are just 2-6 over their last eight games against the Hurricanes dating back to February 2017, but one of those victories came on Saturday night when Ottawa topped Carolina 4-1 as a +150 home underdog on the NHL moneyline. Filip Chlapik, Vladislav Namestnikov, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, and Brady Tkachuk had the goals for Ottawa in that win, while Anders Nilsson made 38 saves. Andrei Svechnikov had the lone marker for the Hurricanes in the losing cause, while James Reimer gave up four goals on 30 Ottawa shots.

Saturday’s game marked the third straight UNDER result in matchups between the Senators and Hurricanes, with the OVER paying off just twice in the past 10 games between the teams.

Coyotes at Capitals | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Capitals -165 Favorites

The Capitals have put up just middling results against the Coyotes over the past five years, going 5-5 in the last 10 games between the two teams dating back to November 2014. Last year the teams split the season series with one victory apiece, with Washington winning 4-2 as a -120 road favorite on the NHL odds in December but Arizona picking up a 4-1 victory as a +175 road underdog in November. The OVER has gone just 3-7 over their past 10 games.

The Coyotes ride a three-game losing streak into Monday night’s matchup, falling 4-3 at home to the Wild as -145 betting favorites in their most recent outing on Saturday. The Capitals, in contrast, are riding a six-game winning streak, beating the Golden Knights 5-2 as a -120 home betting favorite on Saturday. The OVER is 11-1 over Washington’s last dozen outings.
