Devils at Penguins | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Penguins -170 Favorites

The Penguins will be looking to end a two-game skid and win for just the second time in six games on Friday when they host the Devils. They were just swept in a home-and-home series with the Islanders by a combined score of 9-7 and have dropped four of five games overall despite being favored in three of the losses. The OVER has also cashed in three straight games for Pittsburgh, which will be playing on back-to-back nights as well. The Penguins have done fairly well in that situation recently though, going 4-2 the last six times they have played the second game of a back-to-back.

Meanwhile, New Jersey is coming off a 5-1 loss to Boston as a +125 home underdog on Tuesday, ending the team’s two-game winning streak, including a 2-1 victory against Pittsburgh. The OVER has cashed in two in a row for the Devils too after a 4-0 UNDER run.

Rangers at Senators | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Senators -115 Favorites

The Senators will be going for their first three-game winning streak of the season when they host the Rangers. Ottawa has won two straight for the third time in eight games following a 2-1 victory at Montreal as a +170 road underdog on Wednesday. The Senators have seen the UNDER go 5-1 in their last six wins and 4-1 in their past five overall.

New York upset Washington 4-1 in its last game on Wednesday as a +145 home underdog, and the team will be playing the first game of a back-to-back situation here at Ottawa. The Rangers have lost three of the previous four times they have played the first game of a back-to-back along with seven of 10 over the past year. New York has also surprisingly struggled in this series lately, winning only three times in the last 10 games between the teams. The Senators won the most recent meeting 6-2 as a +140 road dog on November 4 with the total going OVER 6.5 goals.
