Golden Knights at Stars | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Stars -143 Favorites

The Stars are riding a three-game winning streak into this matchup with the Golden Knights, who will be playing back-to-back nights after falling 4-2 to the Blues on Thursday. Dallas has outscored opponents 8-3 during its winning streak, including a 2-0 victory against New Jersey as a -200 home favorite on Tuesday following the firing of head coach Jim Montgomery for unprofessional conduct. The UNDER is on a 3-0 run for the Stars and has gone 5-1-1 in their last seven games.

Meanwhile, Vegas has fared well recently when playing the second game of a back-to-back situation, winning four of five under that scenario so far this season. The Golden Knights earned three of those wins on the road, with two of them decided by exactly one goal, including a 4-3 victory against the Devils as -130 road favorites on December 3 in the second game of a three-game road trip.

Devils at Avalanche | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Avalanche -220 Favorites

The Devils will try to avoid a season-high seven-game losing streak when they visit the Avalanche. New Jersey also opened the year with six consecutive losses and has dropped the first two games of a four-game road trip by a combined score of 8-4. The Devils have been outscored by two goals or more four times during their skid, including each of the last two.

Colorado has headed in the opposite direction, winning seven of its last eight, with the lone loss during that stretch coming against a streaking Calgary team 5-4 in overtime as a -140 home favorite on Monday. The UNDER is 4-1 in the past five games for the Central Division-leading Avalanche, who have won the previous two meetings with the Devils after dropping three of four in the series. Going back even further, Colorado has won 12 of 16 meetings dating back to 2010, including a six-game series winning streak between 2014 and 2016.
