Senators at Penguins | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Penguins -230 Favorites

The Penguins will be going for their seventh win in eight games and third in a row on Monday when they host the Senators. Pittsburgh is coming off a 6-4 win over the Nashville Predators on Saturday as a -125 home favorite to complete a home-and-home sweep following a 5-2 victory as a +125 road underdog on Friday, with the OVER cashing in both games. The Penguins currently sit in third place in the Metropolitan Division with 50 points behind the Washington Capitals (59) and New York Islanders (51), and they can overtake the latter with another win here.

Meanwhile, Ottawa has gone 4-2-4 in its last 10 games after falling 4-3 in overtime to the New Jersey Devils on Sunday as a -135 home favorite. The OVER also cashed for the sixth time in seven games for the Senators, and it has gone 10-2 in their past 12 as well.  Four of their previous five have now gone to OT along with six of eight, and they have struggled recently when playing the second game of a back-to-back situation. Ottawa has gone 2-6 the last eight times in the second game of a back-to-back and 7-23 in the past 30 attempts dating back to February of 2018, according to the OddsShark NHL Database.
