DailyFaceoff/Corsica NHL Bets (February 21st)

The Corsica NHL betting predictions looks to bounce back tonight after a disappointing 0 for 2 performance on Wednesday. With 11 games on tap, there are plenty of spots to like. To help narrow it down, I’ve highlighted Corsica’s most valuable and probable bets below. You can find predictions for all of tonight’s games here. Good luck!

Highest Value

Senators @ Devils – Over/Under | Under 6.5 (+111)

At +111, you won’t find a more valuable bet than this on tonight’s slate. Corsica gives this game a 64.9% chance of finishing with less than 6.5 goals, thanks in large part to Ottawa’s decision to scratch Matt Duchene ahead of Monday’s trade deadline. Not only does Duchene generate offense at an elite rate, but he surrenders over 30 scoring chances per 60. His absence should slow down the pace of play at even strength significantly. On special teams, it’s a huge detriment to the Senators’ power-play. Ottawa’s converted on 30.4% of their power-play opportunities over the last 30 days. They’ll be hard-pressed to keep that success going sans Duchene against a stout penalty-killing team in the Devils.

There were rumblings that Mark Stone and Ryan Dzingel would also be held out for precautionary reasons, but as of now they are expected to play. Bobby Ryan (illness) will not play, further depleting the Senators’ offense. With Duchene and Ryan out of the lineup, Travis Zajac can concentrate his efforts on shutting down the Stone line. The long-time Devil is surrendering just 26 scoring chances per 60. It’s a lot easier said than done, but a pair of mediocre performances from Cory Schneider and Anders Nilsson is all this game needs to hit the under.

Highest Probability

Islanders @ Oilers – Spread | EDM +1.5 (-240)

While the respective records of the Oilers and Isles may suggest otherwise, this projects to be an even affair. The Islanders routinely get out-possessed and out-chanced at even strength, only to be bailed out by outstanding goaltending. Robin Lehner will be pushed to his absolute limits against Connor McDavid tonight. With the game being in Edmonton, the Isles don’t have the luxury of matching up their checking line against McDavid. McDavid and Leon Draisaitl have looked terrific alongside Zack Kassian, registering a 60.61 CF% and a 61.54 SCF%. They should dominate the Brock Nelson line tonight. The Islanders should see some pushback when the Mathew Barzal line is on the ice, but the power of McDavid could prove to be too much. Corsica gives Edmonton a 75.51% chance of covering the +1.5-goal spread, and a 54.8% chance of winning the game outright.
