DailyFaceoff/Corsica NHL Bets (October 11th)

Last night, the highest value and highest probability Corsica Hockey Bets went 1-1, bring the record to 4-1 on the season. The Arizona Coyotes came through in a shootout at +135 underdogs, but the Ottawa Senators were unable to cover the +1.5 spread at home vs. the Philadelphia Flyers.

Tonight there is a massive 12-game slate and you can find all of tonight’s bet predictions in our NEW BETS SECTION. This post only takes a look at the bets with the highest value and highest probability.

Highest Value

Vegas Golden Knights @ Pittsburgh Penguins — Over/Under | Under 6.5

This is overwhelmingly the bet that offers the most value tonight according to Corsica, carrying a value rating of +22.12.

In the Penguins first two games, they have one game OVER 6.5 and one game UNDER 6.5. On the Golden Knights side of the puck, they have two games OVER 6.5 and two games UNDER 6.5. Based on recent performances, it looks like a toss-up, but Corsica gives this game  61.66% chance of hitting the under.

A bet of UNDER 6.5 seems a bit risky tonight with Casey DeSmith starting for the injured Matt Murray and Malcolm Subban giving Marc-Andre Fleury a breather. Despite both being their team’s backups, both played very well last year and will look to carry that into their first starts of this season. The only major lineup change for either team is Paul Stastny being sidelined with a lower-body injury.

Highest Probability

Columbus Blue Jackets @ Florida Panthers — Spread | CBJ +1.5

Corsica’s state-of-the-art algorithm really like the Blue Jackets chances to cover tonight’s +1.5 road underdog spread. The Blue Jackets have a 69.69% (nice!) chance of covering that spread. James Reimer will get the call for the injured Roberto Luongo but the Blue Jackets are surprisingly turning to Joonas Korpisalo instead of Sergei Bobrovsky on full rest.

The goalie decision makes this bet a little more risky, but Corsica takes all of that into consideration. This game will feature two contrasting styles on the power-play. Columbus has elected to go with two balanced units, moving Cam Atkinson to the second unit this morning. While Florida has loaded up their top unit with FIVE forwards (Barkov, Hubderdeau, Trocheck, Dadonov and Hoffman). This game could very well come down to special teams, but it has the makings of a close contest.
