DailyFaceoff DFS Cheat Sheet – November 11th
DFS

Below I have listed my favourite centres, wingers, defensemen and goalies for tonight’s slate of Daily Fantasy action. Each player is listed with their prices from both of the Daily Fantasy giants—DraftKings and FanDuelprices are listed as (DraftKings / FanDuel)

Centres

Connor McDavid – vs. DAL – (DK-$8,400 / FD-$7,800)

McDavid is starting to look like one of the best players in the NHL and he made that clear when he picked up three assists vs. Sidney Crosby and the Penguins on Tuesday. McDavid already has 17 points (5G / 12A) in 14 games this season and tonight the Dallas Stars are in town—Dallas is 26th in the NHL in goals against (3.43 GA/PG), making McDavid an excellent play tonight.

Auston Matthews – vs. PHI – (DK-$7,400 / FD-$5,900)

Matthews got off to a blistering start to the season, but has struggled as of late, collecting just one assist in his last seven games. Despite that stretch, he is still averaging 2.60 DraftKings points per game, thanks to an average of 4.0 shots per game. The Flyers are 27th in the NHL in goals against (3.57 GA/PG), which means tonight could be a high-scoring affair.

Travis Zajac – @ BUF – (DK-$4,500 / FD-$4,500)

Zajac has been playing on the Devils’ top line with Taylor Hall recently and that has resulted in the veteran centre picking up one goal and three assists (four points) in his last four games. Zajac usually doesn’t shoot a ton, but with Anders Nilsson starting in goal for Buffalo, Zajac, Hall and Parenteau should be able to make some noise.

Value Option: Nic Petan – @ COL – (DK-$2,500 / FD-$3,500)

Pecan has averaged 16:22 TOI since being recalled and has turned that playing time into, three assists, eight shots and 2.5 DraftKings points per game. At the salary minimum, Petan represents great value in the Jets’ top-6, playing with Blake Wheeler against a struggling Semyon Varlamov.

Wingers

Taylor Hall – @ BUF – (DK-$6,700 / FD-$6,600)

Hall’s first season in New Jersey has been going well. Over his last eight games the former Oiler has three goals and four assists (seven points) and should continue his strong play tonight in Buffalo. The Sabres are giving up the ninth most shots against per game (31.2) and Hall is firing more than four shots (4.25) per game through the first 12 games.

William Nylander – vs. PHI – (DK-$6,200 / FD-$4,900)

Like Matthews, Nylander’s productions has slowed down a bit, but he’s still picked up three assists over his last seven games. His decreased production can be attributed to his decreased shot production—1.42 over the last seven games versus 4.33 in his first six games. The Flyers have been friendly to opposing teams, so expect big things from Toronto tonight.

Patrick Maroon – vs. DAL – (DK-$4,400 / FD-$4,800)

Maroon was recently moved to the top line with Connor McDavid and it has been paying off. Maroon has picked up three goals and two assists (five points) one his last four games and his salary is excellent for a player who is playing with one of the NHL’s best playmakers.

Value Option: Rene Bourque – vs. WPG – (DK-$2,700 / FD-$3,200)

Bourque an ultra cheap option, who will be bumped into the Avalanche top-6 tonight. Bourque is expected to play with Carl Soderbergh and Gabriel Landeskog tonight and he comes in with two goals and 13 shots in his last seven games. He makes for a solid punt play tonight.

Defensemen

Damon Severson – @ BUF – (DK-$4,600 / FD-$4,200)

Severson is the Devils’ top offensive defenseman and has had a strong start to 2016-17. Severson has nine points (2G / 7A) in 12 games this season, including two goals and five assists in his last seven. Severson plays big minutes at even-strength and on the power-play and tonight’s meeting with Nilsson and the Sabres is a positive one.

Oscar Klefbom – vs. DAL – (DK-$3,900 / FD-$3,900)

There’s a few things that bode well for Klefbom. First, he shoots a lot, second he blocks a lot of shots. He also plays big minutes at 5-on-5 and with the man advantage. Want me to keep going? He is cheap and has a plus-matchup vs. the Stars. Play Klefbom with confidence tonight.

Tyler Myers – @ COL – (DK-$3,900 / FD-$4,300)

Myers had two goals and one assist in his first eight games, but has picked up three assists and four shots in two games since returning to the lineup. The Jets’ offence has been impressive recently and they should have no problem continuing that trend against the Avalanche.

Goalies

Cam Talbot – vs. DAL – (DK-$8,100 / FD-$8,500)

Talbot’s hot start has taken a hit recently. He has lost four of his last five starts while posting a 2.97 GAA and .897 SV%. Talbot draws a good matchup against a Stars team that played last night—they’re also incredibly banged up and the once high-scoring Stars are averaging just 2.64 goals per game right now. There aren’t a lot of great options tonight, so Talbot should be one of the safer bets.

Craig Anderson – vs. LAK – (DK-$7,700 / FD-$8,700)

Anderson has lost his last two starts, but he still has a 1.20 GAA, .961 SV% and two shutouts in his last five starts and tonight he faces a Kings team that comes in on a hot-streak. They played last night, which bodes well for Anderson, especially if Jeff Zatkoff gets the nod for Los Angeles.

Frederik Andersen – (DK-$7,300 / FD-$8,500)

Andersen had a tough night against the Kings and tonight’s matchup isn’t ideal, but he will rack up at ton of saves at the very least. Even if he stops 30 shots, allows three goals and the Leafs win 4-3, he’s worth a shot with his low-salary. I won’t say he’s a sure thing, but he’s worth the roll of the dice.
