DailyFaceoff DFS Cheat Sheet – November 30th

DailyFaceoff DFS Cheat Sheet – November 30th
DFS

There are only three games tonight, but there should be no shortage of good hockey. We have Sidney Crosby and the Penguins taking on their rivals in Brooklyn, the Maple Leafs, who seem to always be exciting in Calgary and a all-California battle in Los Angeles between the Kings and Sharks.

Following the deal with SaberSim, these Cheat Sheets are going to change just a little. It will still be the players that I am targeting with SaberSim intel as well as their projection for that given night on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Below I have listed my favourite centres, wingers, defensemen and goalies for tonight’s slate of Daily Fantasy action. Each player is listed with their prices from both of the Daily Fantasy giants—DraftKings and FanDuelprices are listed as (DraftKings / FanDuel)

Centres

Sidney Crosby – @ NYI – (DK-$8,800 / FD-$9,200)
SaberSim Projection: DK-3.29 / FD-11.87

This one is simple really. Crosby is the best player in the NHL and has 15 goals and five assists in just 16 games. He has played great since he’s stepped onto the ice in 2016-17 and comes into a matchup with the Islanders with four points (2G / 2A) in two games against them already. And his numbers against the Islanders aren’t only good this year—he has an absurd 98 points (31G / 67A) in 56 games against them in his career.

Sean Monahan – vs. TOR – (DK-$5,700 / FD-$6,400)
SaberSim Projection: DK-3.55 / FD-12.71

Monahan was dropped down the lineup on Monday and responded with a goal. He has been one of the bigger disappointments in the league so far this season, but he is expected to move back to the top-line tonight and hopefully Monday’s game sparked him. He will meet a Maple Leafs team that played last night, who are expected to roll with workhorse Freddie Andersen for the second straight night.

Anze Kopitar – vs. SJS – (DK-$5,600 / FD-$6,900)
SaberSim Projection: DK-3.21 / FD-11.63

Jeff Carter is as hot as they come right now, but I like Kopitar tonight. Since coming back he has one assist and four shots in two goals and his overall numbers are much lower than usual, but he has great numbers against the Sharks throughout his career and I like him tonight against a Sharks team that went to overtime last night.

Wingers

Patric Hornqvist – @ NYI – (DK-$7,200 / FD-$7,100)
SaberSim Projection: DK-3.07 / FD-10.84

Hornqvist is expected to return from a concussion tonight and some people might not know that—they would if they knew about DailyFaceoff! The power-forward has 13 points (5G / 8A) in 16 games this season and will play with Crosby tonight. Need another reason to play him? OK. He scored in his first game vs. the Islanders as well. There.

Trevor Lewis – vs. SJS – (DK-$3,100 / FD-$3,000)
SaberSim Projection: DK-2.44 / FD-8.45

The deterrent from playing Kopitar is the fact that he is playing with Lewis and Dwight King. As punt plays go, you can do worse than Lewis, who has two assists and five shots on goal in two games while playing alongside Kopitar.

Matthew Tkachuk – vs. TOR – (DK-$4,800 / FD-$4,100)
SaberSim Projection: DK-3.60 / FD-13.08

If you play Tkachuk and it works out for you, you can thank SaberSim. Their projections had Tkachuk having a great night vs. the Maple Leafs—he was the third highest ranked forward. Tkachuk has three goals and one assist in his last eight games and can be a game-breaker against a Maple Leafs team that is no stranger to giving up goals.

Defensemen

Kris Letang – @ NYI – (DK-$7,100 / FD-$7,500)
SaberSim Projection: DK-3.07 / FD-10.70

It is almost impossible to keep Letang out of your lineup when the Penguins are playing. He really does it all. He averaged 3.4 shots and 1.9 blocks per game, which provides a stable floor. On the season, he has picked up 12 points (2G / 10A) in 17 games, which includes one goal and one assist in his only game vs. the Islanders.

Mark Giordano – vs. TOR – (DK-$6,300 / FD-$6,200)
SaberSim Projection: DK-4.24 / FD-14.96

Giordano’s 64 blocked shots leads all available players tonight and his 56 shots is good for fourth among defensemen. Despite all of those shots, Gio has just one goal, which is absurd. He has a 1.8 shooting percentage this season, but 7.3% for his career, so he is due for some good luck sooner or later.

Alec Martinez – vs. SJS – (DK-$5,000 / FD-$4,500)
SaberSim Projection: DK-1.52 / FD-5.31

Martinez is a go-to defenseman of mine because of his willingness to block shots but also play offence. On the year, Martinez has two more goals, one more assist and just one less shot and two less blocks than his teammate Drew Doughty. That all works out as Martinez the best daily fantasy defenseman on the Kings so far this year, so play him as such.

Goalies

Matt Murray – @ NYI – (DK-$8,400 / FD-$8,900)
SaberSim Projection: DK-1.52 / FD-5.31

I reckon Murray will be the chalk play tonight. The Islanders are in disarray and there is a 54.7 percent chance that Murray allows two or fewer goals tonight. Murray comes in having won seven of eight games with a 1.75 GAA and .939 SV% this season, including a 20-save performance in a win over the Islanders. Roll him out there.

Peter Budaj – vs. SJS – (DK-$7,600 / FD-$8,200)
SaberSim Projection: DK-1.52 / FD-5.31

The Sharks don’t represent a great matchup, but with limited options, Budaj is one of the best. He has won five in a row and according to SaberSim, he has the best odds for a shutout tonight (10%) and a 55.2 percent chance to allow two or few goals. I like those odds and the Sharks come in a bit fatigued having played last evening.
