DailyFaceoff DFS Value Plays – December 30th
Meier-TImo

I’ve got a wedding to go to tonight, so I’ve got to keep this cheat sheet short and sweet. Below I’ve listed my top Value Plays at each position.

This Cheat Sheet includes DraftKings and FanDuel salary as well as SaberSim dfs projections. These projections don’t tell you exactly what’s going to happen. One game samples have too much randomness to pin down exact predictions. Rather, the projections represent what a player’s performance would look like on average if that particular matchup were played over and over again. There is a wide range of possible outcomes, and the projections represent the average of those possibilities for each player.

Teuvo Teravainen (C) – vs. CHI – (DK-$4,400 / FD-$4,500)

SaberSim Projection: DK-1.85 | FD-6.61

Teravainen plays on what is listed as the Hurricanes’ third line, but he plays over 16 minutes per night and is fourth among Canes’ forwards in power play ice-time (2:11 per game). Teravainen has two goals, three assists and 2.43 shots on goal per game in his last seven games. With the Blackhawks coming in on the tail-end of a back-to-back and expected to be the heavy chalk plays, Teravainen is a nice value contrarian play.

Timo Meier (W) – vs. PHI – (DK-$3,000 / FD-$3,500)

SaberSim Projection: DK-2.37 | FD-8.32

Meier hasn’t played a whole lot since being called up, but has been making the most of his opportunities. Without any power play time at all, Meier has averaged 3.8 shots on goal per game in his first five games. Meier is averaging just 12:03 TOI/GM, but his league-leading 19.43 Shots/60 and low salary makes him a great value play.

David Schlemko (D) – vs. PHI – (DK-$3,600 / FD-$3,300)

SaberSim Projection: DK-0.98 | FD-3.39

Schlemko has been a healthy scratch for the last three games, so he will be well rested and motivated to play tonight vs. the Flyers. Schlemko sees consistent time on the Sharks’ second power play unit and is averaging close to two shots per game and 1.4 blocked shots per game. Schlemko has a stable floor that is hard to find for this cheap.

Juuse Saros (G) – @STL – (DK-$7,200 / FD-$7,600)

SaberSim Projection: DK-4.36 | FD-17.46

Keep in mind that Saros has not been confirmed, but Pekka Rinne started last night and lost, so there’s a good chance that Saros goes in St. Louis. The 21-year-old would be making his sixth start of the season and he has been excellent in his first five. A road meeting with the Blues leaves little to be desired, but Saros is 2-2-1 with a 1.39 GAA and .950 SV%, so you won’t find better value between the pipes.
