Daniel Briere Returns to Lineup vs. Tampa Bay

Seems like Briere’s absence from the lineup will only last one game as the Gatineau, Quebec native is expected to play tonight according to John Boruk of CSN Philly, via Twitter. Remember to adjust your lineup accordingly.

As you can see below, tonight will not be the first game missed by Philadelphia Flyers second line center Daniel Briere. This morning, Flyers GM Paul Holmgren announced that the scoring forward would not take today’s morning skate and is listed as day-to-day with a bruised hand. Anthony SanFilippo of Journal Register Company Newspapers, via Twitter, later confirmed that Briere will not play tonight.

Briere has 10 goals and 25 points playing in 31 of the team’s 33 games. We expect a few days of rest to go a long way with the Gatineau, Quebec native. By taking tonight off, he has four full days off, which may be enough to regain some strength in that hand.

UPDATE 10/29/11: According to the official Twitter page of the Philadelphia Flyers Hockey Club, forward Daniel Briere will not play tonight.

If this injury occurred during the team’s last game, we didn’t see it as the crafty veteran scored two goals and four points. Look for both Jody Shelley and Andreas Nodl to dress tonight in his absence.
