DFS Lines to Target: 01/30/20

It’s a quiet Thursday night in the NHL with only three games on the slate. I’ve gone over my top medium-priced and value stacks to help you out. Good luck!

Medium-Priced

Montreal 1 – Tomas Tatar ($6,100), Phillip Danault ($5,800), Brendan Gallagher ($6,300)

The return of Brendan Gallagher to the Habs lineup against Buffalo makes this line my favorite one to target tonight. Before Gallagher went down with injury, this line was one of the best in the NHL when it came to 5-on-5 play. They own a 60.42 CF% and 61.08 HDCF% in over 400 minutes of ice time together this season. They’ll be matched up against the Eichel, Reinhart and Girgensons line, which owns a 44.93 CF%.

The Sabres are allowing 3.12 goals-per-game and also have the third-worst penalty kill unit in the NHL (74% efficiency). Each player in this Habs stack is a member of the team’s top power-play unit that is quarterbacked by Shea Weber. This line should generate plenty of high-quality chances in every situation, feasting on a Sabres defense that was burned for five goals in their last outing against Ottawa.

Value Stack

Nashville 1 – Matt Duchene ($5,500), Ryan Johansen ($5,200), Mikael Granlund ($4,900)

Nashville’s top line is priced nicely tonight in their matchup with the Devils. This line has barely played together this season but Duchene and Granlund have a great 58.19 CF% in over 400 minutes of ice time as a duo. They’ll see a mix of New Jersey’s top two lines and it will be high-event hockey. Granlund is heating up with three goals in his last four games, while Johansen has scored twice in his last three outings. Duchene continues to be steady with 32 points in 46 games.

Nashville’s third-line has the best even-strength matchup in this game going up against the Hughes line, but there’s more upside with this first-line trio at not much more of a cost. Duchene and Johansen both play on the first power-play unit and will be facing a New Jersey penalty kill that ranks in the bottom half of the league (79% efficiency). The Devils are a disaster defensively, allowing 20 goals in their last four games, so you can’t go wrong with Nashville 1 tonight.
