DFS Lines To Target: 11/01/19

Yesterday’s two-game slate sets us up for a busy Friday night, with eight games on tap. I’ve highlighted my top high-priced, mid-range, and value stacks below. Good luck!

High-Priced

Washington 1 – @Alex Ovechkin ($8,100), @Nicklas Backstrom ($5,600), @T.J. Oshie ($5,700)

While Ovechkin’s price continues to soar to new heights, Backstrom and Oshie’s price-tags keep this stack affordable. At $19,400 for the full stack, Washington 1 should easily return value tonight. They draw an excellent matchup against an overrated Sabres team. Washington’s recent line-matching trends on home ice suggest their top line will see a mix of Buffalo’s top-six tonight. The @Jack Eichel line is much more of a threat on the power-play than at even strength. Washington 1 is a clear-cut favourite in that matchup, and any time they see against the @Marcus Johansson line will be a bonus.

The special teams matchup only adds to the upside of this stack tonight. Washington’s dynamic power-play looks as strong as ever, ranking sixth in the NHL with a 25.5 PP%. Inversely, Buffalo has struggled on the penalty-kill this season, only managing a 79.5 PK%. Washington’s top line will see plenty of scoring chances in all situations tonight, and their consistent shot production gives them a very high floor. Roll them with confidence tonight.

Mid-Range

Dallas 1 – @Jamie Benn ($4,700), @Tyler Seguin ($6,600), @Alexander Radulov ($6,000)

The Stars juggled their lines ahead of tonight’s game against the Avalanche, but their prices on DraftKings don’t reflect the changes. Benn is still priced at a mere $4,700 despite being reunited with Seguin and Radulov on the top line. The three of them should see a mix of Colorado’s depleted top-nine at 5v5 tonight. With Landeskog and Rantanen sidelined, the Avalanche don’t have a line capable of keeping pace with Dallas 1. The Stars are averaging a whopping 36 scoring and 15 high-danger chances per 60 with their top line on the ice this season.

The Avalanche have managed to kill 84.6% of their penalties, the eighth-best rate in the NHL, but they’re taking almost four minor penalties a game. I like Dallas 1’s chances of breaking through on one of those four power-plays tonight. That combined with the lopsided matchup spread at 5v5 makes them a safe bet tonight.

Value

Carolina 2 – @Andrei Svechnikov ($5,900), @Sebastian Aho ($6,100), @Warren Foegele ($2,900)

Foegele’s addition to the Aho line makes them an excellent value stack tonight. Foegle proved last season he can be a serviceable top-six player for the Canes. He and Aho averaged 28 scoring chances per 60 at 5v5 together last year. He offers far less upside than his line-mates, but the price alone makes him worth including in your lineup. Carolina tends to hard-match the @Jordan Staal line against the opposition’s best on home ice. That can leave the Aho line with some lopsided matchups when they play host to top-heavy teams, and that’s exactly what they’ll get tonight. The @Dylan Larkin line has been carrying Detroit all season. They’ll draw all the attention of the Staal line tonight, freeing up Carolina 2 to feast on the feeble depth of the Red Wings. You’ll be hard-pressed to find better value tonight.
