DFS Lines to Target: 12/05/19

There’s plenty of value to be found on a nine-game Thursday slate in the NHL tonight. I’ve highlighted my top high-priced, medium-priced and value stacks to help you out. Best of luck!

High-Priced

Tampa Bay 1 – Ondrej Palat ($4,800), Brayden Point ($6,600), Nikita Kucherov ($7,400)

Tampa Bay’s dangerous top line has a good matchup at 5-on-5 tonight going up against the Staal, Zucker, Zuccarello line. This Minnesota trio has a 44.94 CF% together, while Tampa’s top line has a 57.93 CF%. Kucherov and Point are on fire right now, with Kucherov racking up five goals and 18 points in his last 10 contests and Point scoring six goals in that span. Palat, meanwhile, has four goals and seven points in his last 10 games. Both Kucherov and Point play on Tampa’s lethal first power-play unit, which has helped the Bolts have the third best power play percentage in the NHL this year (29.3).

The Wild are allowing 3.14 goals per game this season and have a mediocre penalty kill that ranks in the middle of the pack. Alex Stalock will be making his 14th start of the season for the Wild, and he’s already surrendered at least four goals in five of his starts. This Wild team is going to have a very difficult time keeping this red-hot Tampa line off the board tonight.

Medium-Priced

Philadelphia 1 – Claude Giroux ($6,300), Morgan Frost ($5,000), Travis Konecny ($5,800)

The Flyers are one of the hottest teams in the league right now, and this promising top line showcased their potential in their last outing against the Maple Leafs. Giroux, Frost and Konecny had a CF of 94.4%, outshooting the Leafs 10-0, out-chancing them 13-0 and outscoring them 2-0. They will be seeing a mix of Arizona’s second and third lines, which are both getting outshot by the opposition this year.

While the Coyotes are one of the best defensive teams, they’ve allowed four goals in two of their last four contests and have a penalty kill only operating at 80.7 efficiency. All three players in this Flyers stack are currently being deployed on the first power-play unit and should do some damage against an average penalty kill. Konecny has scored in back-to-back games, while Giroux also got on the board last game and has terrorized the Coyotes throughout his career with seven goals in 16 games against Arizona. This line only has a 77:25 sample size, but their 56.28 CF% indicates that their value is only going to increase in the future. Take advantage of the good price while you can.

Value Stack

Columbus 1 – Gustav Nyquist ($4,700), Boone Jenner ($4,600), Oliver Bjorkstrand ($5,000)

This Columbus top line is priced well tonight against a Rangers team allowing 3.31 goals-per-game — seventh worst in the NHL. Nyquist is tied for the team lead in scoring with 18 points through 27 games, while Bjorkstrand is up to six goals and 15 points this year. Jenner doesn’t have the same high-end point potential as the other two, but he’s been one of the team’s most reliable goal-scorers with six on the year.

The Rangers have the fourth-worst penalty kill percentage in the league, and all three players in this stack play on the first power-play unit. While their best value tonight may come with the man advantage, they’ve been pretty solid at 5-on-5 with a 52.63 CF% this year and will be seeing a mix of some new-look Rangers top-nine lines. Columbus also seems to play the Rangers well, as they’ve won five of the last six meetings, so this top line has some good value against a lackluster defensive team tonight.
