DFS Lines to Target: 12/10/19

It’s another action-packed Tuesday night in the NHL. There’s 12 games on the slate, and plenty of value to be found. I’ve highlighted my top high-priced, mid-range, and value stacks to help you out. Best of luck!

High-Priced

Vegas 1 – Jonathan Marchessault ($6,700) , William Karlsson ($6,400), Reilly Smith ($5,400)

The Golden Knights top line has a good matchup going up against the Blackhawks first line tonight. This Vegas trio has a 54.75 CF % at even-strength and will be matched up against the Patrick Kane, Alex DeBrincat and Dylan Strome line, which owns a 45.65 CF% on the year.

The Blackhawks are struggling to keep the puck out of their net right now. They’ve given up three or more goals in five of their last six games and won’t have an answer for this hot Vegas line. Marchessault has scored four times in his last three games, while Smith has put up four points in his last four contests. Karlsson is up to 25 points in 32 games and been one of the team’s most reliable scorers this season.

Medium-Priced

Winnipeg 2 – Nikolaj Ehlers ($5,500), Blake Wheeler ($5,800), Jack Rosolvic ($3,400)

The Jets offer plenty of value tonight against a Detroit team having a disaster of a season. I see the best value with Winnipeg’s second line, as both Nikolaj Ehlers and Blake Wheeler have been on a tear of late. Wheeler has been held off the scoresheet just once in his last seven games, racking up nine points in that span. Ehlers has six goals in his last 11 games and Rosolvic has found the back of the net twice in his last six outings.

The Red Wings are almost allowing a whopping four goals per game and also have the league’s worst penalty kill percentage (72.2 % efficiency). Winnipeg’s second line will see a mix of Detroit’s top nine and they have the advantage over each of them at even strength. This Jets unit has a 54.80 CF% at 5v5, and all three players also see power play time. They’re primed to do damage at both even-strength and on the power play against a team that has lost 11 straight games.

Value Stack

Nashville 3 – Rocco Grimaldi ($2,700), Nick Bonino ($4,800), Craig Smith ($3,400)

Nashville’s third line has some nice value tonight considering the matchup. Rocco Grimaldi brings a ton of speed to this unit and it’s going to create trouble for San Jose’s third line featuring veterans Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau. This San Jose unit is getting outshot by opponents this season, while Nashville’s third line has been one of the best possession lines in the NHL. In a 154:25 sample size, Grimaldi, Smith, Bonino have an impressive 61.99 CF%.

Both Bonino and Grimaldi scored in their last game and there’s a good chance they can keep the momentum going against a Sharks squad allowing 3.44 goals per game — third-worst in the NHL. San Jose is winless in four games and will be turning in goal to Martin Jones, who has struggled against Nashville in his career. Not only has Jones allowed at least four goals in his three most recent starts, but he owns a lacklustre .882 save percentage in 14 career games against the Predators.
