DFS Lines to Target: 12/17/19

There are 11 games on this Tuesday night in the NHL, including Taylor Hall making his debut for the Arizona Coyotes. I’ve highlighted my top high-priced, medium-priced and value stacks to help you out. Best of luck!

High-Priced

Boston 1 – Brad Marchand ($6,800), Patrice Bergeron ($7,200), David Pastrnak ($7,700)

Boston’s “Perfection” line continues to be one of the best in the NHL. This trio has a lethal 56.39 CF% at even-strength and will be matched up against the Kings’ second line of Trevor Lewis, Jeff Carter and Kyle Clifford. Pastrnak has continued his torrid pace with three goals in his last three games, while Marchand is riding a four-game point streak. Bergeron has gotten on the scoresheet in three of the four games he’s played in since returning from injury.

The Kings are giving up 3.14 goals per game, but the best value with this stack probably comes with the man advantage. LA has an ugly 74% PK percentage — second-worst in the NHL, and they will be tasked with shutting down a Bruins power play that is third-best in the NHL and led by the three players in this stack. Add in the fact Kings’ netminder Jonathan Quick has a .891 save percentage this season and that makes this stack the safest high-priced one tonight.

Medium-Priced

Tampa Bay 2 – Alex Killorn ($5,200), Anthony Cirelli ($4,600), Steven Stamkos ($7,100)

Steven Stamkos comes with a big price tag tonight, but the price of his linemates makes this stack good value. Stamkos has been one of the league’s top scorers since the start of December with six goals and nine points in his last seven games. Killorn is also really starting to take off with eight points in his last five games, while Cirelli has chipped in four points in that span.

This line has only played over 50 minutes together this season, but the results have been promising. They own a 55.67 CF% and a 50.00 HDCF% thus far and will be line matched against the Duclair, Tierney and Namestikov line. Duclair is hot right now, but this Ottawa trio has an ugly 32.93 CF% in over 40 minutes of 5-on-5 time together this season. Ottawa has been one of the league’s worst defensive teams this season, so this line should be in for a productive night. Both Killorn and Stamkos also play on a lethal first power-play unit that has helped the team operate at 29.1 percent efficiency with the man advantage this season.

Value Stack

Vegas 3 – Valentin Zykov ($2,900), Paul Statsny ($4,300), Alex Tuch ($4,600)

This is technically a “third line”, but there’s quite a bit of value to be found here considering Zykov and Stastny both play on the Golden Knights’ first power-play unit. The strong play of that unit has helped Vegas have the eighth best PP percentage in the NHL this season at 22.5 % efficiency. Zykov has looked great since returning from suspension and is coming off an outing he which he struck with the man advantage and fired five shots on goal. Statsny also collected a helper in that game, while Tuch is sitting on 10 points in 19 games.

There isn’t a ton of even-strength data for this line matchup, but Tuch, Zykov and Stastny have a solid 55 CF% together in a 40 minute sample size. They’ll mainly be up against the Jordan Greenway, Luke Johnson and Luke Kunin line. Johnson is an AHL call-up, while Greenway and Kunin have just a 47.11 CF% in almost 250 minutes of ice time together this season. Minnesota’s eighth-worst penalty kill percentage and 3.26 goals allowed on average is reason to bet on this Vegas trio continuing the momentum tonight.
