CENTRES

JOHN TAVARES – VS.OTT ($9,000)

Tavares was held off of the scoresheet on Tuesday, but has four goals and six assists (10 points) in his last eight games. He leads the NHL in points and will take on a Senators team on the tail-end of a back-to-back.

RYAN JOHANSEN – VS. EDM ($6,700)

Both teams are on a back-to-back and Johansen is coming off of a good game vs. Detroit, despite being held off of the scoresheet. He has on goal and three assists in his last six and nearly has a point-per-game at home this season (10G / 20A in 33 gms).

SEAN MONAHAN – VS. TOR ($6,100)

Monahan is from nearby Brampton, Ontario so playing against the Maple Leafs should be a big deal for the 20-year-old. He comes in with eight goals and six assists (14 points) in his last 12 games.

NICKLAS BACKSTROM – VS. DAL ($5,900)

This should be a high-scoring affair between the Caps and Stars, which should lead to an assist or two from Backstrom. He has five assists in his last five games.

CODY EAKIN – @ WSH ($4,500)

After being a healthy scratch on Tuesday, Eakin was back in the lineup on Thursday and had a goal and assist. He skated with Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin yesterday, so if that is the case again tonight, he should be in for a nice night in what should be a high-scoring game.

WINGERS

ALEX OVECHKIN – VS. DAL ($9,500)

Ovechkin has been sizzling, scoring seven goals with two assists and 33 shots (5.5 S/PG) in his last six games. Like I’ve said, there should be lots of scoring in this one and when there’s lots of scoring, I have a feeling Alex Ovechkin will be the on doing the scoring. He is EXPENSIVE though!

KYLE OKPOSO – VS. OTT ($8,000)

Okposo didn’t record a point in his first game back, but he didn’t really play with his boy J.T. He skated on the top line on Thursday, so he should be there tonight. He had three shots on Tuesday ( a good sign) and 44 points (14G / 30A) in 47 games this season.

JOHNNY GAUDREAU – VS. TOR ($5,500)

Gaudreau is making the Calder Trophy race into a three-horse race. He has three goals and three assists (6 points) in his last five games. He has 50 points (18G / 32A) in 66 games this season and is a great option vs. the Maple Leafs.

NAIL YAKUPOV – @ CBJ ($4,200)

Yakupov has really found his game since Derek Roy was acquired by the Oilers. He has one goal and two assists while after averaging 3.75 shots in his last four games. He has a reasonable salary and could be a nice risk/reward option vs. a Blue Jackets team also on a back-to-back.

RENE BOURQUE – VS. CBJ ($2,900)

The much-maligned Bourque has played relatively well in his first three games with the Blue Jackets. He has one goal and eight shots in those contests and has a good chance to produce every night while playing with Johansen. At $2,900 he is a decent gamble to help round-out your roster.

DEFENSEMEN

MIKE GREEN – VS.DAL ($4,900)

Green will be back in the lineup tonight after missing Wednesday’s game. John Carlson is a better option, but Green is equally as offensively talented and much cheaper. He had two assists in his last contest and if there is going to be goals in this game, Green should be in on at least one.

T.J BRODIE – VS. TOR ($4,200)

Not surprisingly, when Mike Giordano went down, Brodie’s production has dropped off. Dennis Wideman and Kris Russell have been superb, but there salaries are massive. So Brodie comes with a reasonable price tag and a great matchup. He has one assist in six games without GIo.

Ryan Murray – vs. EDM ($2,500)

Murray has only played seven games this season, positing one assist, but he will be back in the lineup for the first time in five games. He is tremendously talented offensively and should see some PP time tonight vs. the Oilers. In a game where both teams will be fatigued, his fresh legs should be a nice spark for the Blue Jackets.
