Here’s a quick explanation on how to build your lineup an play! You have $50,000 in Salary space, to build a team that consists of 2C, 3W, 2D, 1G and 1 Util. Below you will find how skaters and goalies scoring works!

• Players will accumulate points as follows:

  • Goal = +3 PTS
  • Assist = +2 PTS
  • Shot on Goal = +0.5 PTS
  • Blocked Shot = +0.5 PTS
  • Short Handed Point Bonus (Goal/Assist) = +1 PTS
  • Shootout Goal = +0.2 PTS
  • Hat Trick Bonus = +1.5 PTS

• Goalies only will accumulate points as follows:

  • Win = +3 PTS
  • Save = +0.2 PTS
  • Goal Against = -1 PTS
  • Shutout Bonus = +2 PTS

• Goalie Scoring Notes:

  • Goalies WILL receive points for all stats they accrue, including goals and assists.
  • The Goalie Shutout Bonus is credited to goalies if they complete the entire game with 0 goals allowed in regulation + overtime. Shootout goals will not prevent a shutout. Goalie must complete the entire game to get credit for a shutout.

Below I’ve listed my top DFS line stacks, defensemen and goalies as well as a few sample DraftKings lineup for tonight

Line Stacks

Chris Kunitz ($4,800) – Sidney Crosby ($8,200) – Patric Hornqvist ($6,900) – vs. New Jersey

Crosby is a particularly spectacular play tonight, but will also be a high-volume play vs. the young, inexperienced Scott Wedgewood. Crosby is on a 12-game point streak, having picked up 20 points (6G / 14A) over that span. He has been unreal over the last month and has picked up one goal and two assists in three games vs. the Devils. Hornqvist has one goal, three assists and 3.7 FPPG over his last six games and Kunitz has four goals, one assist and 3.2 FPPG over that same span. It is an excellent matchup for a red-hot Penguins team.

Jussi Jokinen ($5,300) – Vincent Trocheck ($5,300) – Reilly Smith ($4,900) – @ Boston

The Panthers roll three quality scoring lines out there, but their second line has done the majority of the scoring recently. Trocheck is leading the way with 10 points (4G / 6A) and 4.5 PPG in his last eight games. Over that same span Jokinen is following close behind with 4.1 FPPG (4G / 5A) and Smith with 3.6 FPPG (2G / 5A). Tonight they catch a reeling Boston Bruins team on the tail-end of a back-to-back, likely with Jonas Gustavsson in net after Tuukka Rask left last night’s game with an illness. The Panthers are also 0-3 vs. the Bruins this season, they’re too good to get swept.

Brayden Schenn ($5,600) – Claude Giroux ($7,100) – Wayne Simmonds ($6,800) – @ Colorado

The Flyers are fighting for a playoff spot and their matchup tonight is gold. They’re taking on an Avalanche team that is missing Nathan MacKinnon and Matt Duchene. Colorado is shorthanded and the Flyers have been playing great hockey for the better part of a month. They’ve gone 3-1-1 over their last five and Giroux picked up four points (2G / 2A) and 4.4 FPPG over that span. Schenn is having a career-year and has picked up a point-per-game in his last nine games (3G / 6A) which has worked out to 3.7 FPPG.  Simmonds is averaging the exact same FPPG as Schenn while scoring two goals with five assists over that nine-game stretch. The matchup and desperation for this play is there.

Value Stack:

Darren Helm ($2,900) – Pavel Datsyuk ($6,200) – Anthony Mantha ($3,000) – vs. Montreal

Speaking of desperation, the Red Wings are as desperate it gets right now. They’re trying to extend their 24-year playoff streak and they’re coming off of a terrible game vs. Tampa Bay. The Red Wings’ offence has been relatively quiet in March, but Datsyuk has still managed to pick up seven points (3G / 4A) and 4.1 FPPG in his last eight games. Helm is expected to be moved to his wing tonight after scoring four goals in his last five games. He doesn’t have the best hands, but he has speed and goes to the net. Mantha has been a prolific scorer at every level, but has failed to score in his first four NHL games. He has one assist and is averaging 2.1 FPPG so far and tonight he makes his home debut vs. his hometown team.

Defensemen

Roman Josi  – vs. VAN – $7,000

Josi has been been an absolute stud all season long, which is obvious based on his $7,000 price tag. He has points in three straight games and one goal, five assists and 4.6 FPPG in his last five games. The Predators have a strong matchup vs. the Canucks and their best options are on their blueline. Josi is a sure-fire play tonight, if you can fit him into the lineup.

Kris Letang – vs. NJ – $7,000

Letang has had a massive second-half, tying Patrick Kane in points since January. He has collected three goals, three assists and 3.8 FPPG in his last eight games. A Penguins stack is expensive and could have a high-owned percentage tonight, but for good reason. They represent excellent plays. Letang has two assists in three games vs. the Devils this season.

Shayne Gostisbehere – @ COL – $6,100

Gostisbehere has been held off of the scoresheet for four-straight games, for the first time since being recalled in November. With an excellent matchup and the Flyers leaning on him big-time on the power-play, expect Gostisbehere to get back on the scoresheet tonight in Colorado.

Value Options: Jacob Trouba – vs. LA – $4,400 / Niklas Kronwall – $3,900

Goalies

Pekka Rinne – vs. VAN – $8,100

Rinne is coming off of a win over the Kings on Monday and has gone five of his last six games while posting a 2.18 GAA and .923 SV%. Tonight he faces a Canucks team that has been shutout in three straight games, so good matchup would be an understatement.

James Reimer – vs. EDM – $7,100

Reimer lost his first start as a San Jose Shark, but has won three starts since while posting a 0.67 GAA, .975 SV% and two shutouts. HE has been excellent in a Sharks uniform and tonight he faces an Oilers team that has lost four of their last six games.

Sergei Bobrovsky – vs. CAR – $6,800

Bobrovsky lost his first three starts after retuning from a groin injury, but has won his last two while stopping 58 of 63 shots (.921 SV%). Bobrovsky is a proven quality netminder, who has a great game vs. a Hurricanes team that has lost each of their last five games.
