Below I’ve listed my top DFS plays at each position as well as my ideal DraftKings lineup for tonight.

Centres

John Tavares – vs. BOS – ($8,200)

This one is pretty easy. Tavares has points in every game this season and he faces the Bruins who can’t play defence. He has nine points (4G / 5A) in six games and Boston is averaging 4.33 gaols against per game and will let Gustavsson try and stop the avalanche tonight. It is a juicy matchup that warrants taking the most expensive centre.

Steven Stamkos – @ WPG – ($7,800)

Anyone can recommend the top two centres right? Well, I have a reason for it. Stamos has five goals and 19 shots in seven games and faces a Jets team he has feasted on in his career—in 12 career games vs. Winnipeg, Stamkos has nine goals and seven assists (16 points).

Connor McDavid – vs. WSH – ($5,400)

Just seven games in, McDavid appears to be hitting his stride offensively as he enters play on a three-game point streak, having collected three goals and two assists over that span. He has shown great chemistry with Benoit Pouliot and Nail Yakupov lately and Braden Holtby getting the night off should help McDavid and his line get on the score sheet for the fourth contest in a row.

Cheap Options: Alex Galchenyuk – @ BUF – $4,600 / Dylan Larkin – @ CGY – $4,000 / Sam Reinhart – vs. MTL – $2,700

Wingers

Max Pacioretty – @ BUF – $7,600

Pacioretty is one of the best goal scorers in the NHL. He has five goals in seven games and 31 shots on goal so far. Tonight he will face the Sabres for the first time his season. He had more shots on goal vs. Buffalo (19) than any other team last year but only scored once. Look for him to get one tonight.

Gustav Nyquist – @ CGY – $5,100

With Brad Richards out with a back injury, the Red Wings have to shake things up, which means Nyquist will go to the top line with Henrik Zetterberg. The Red Wings are in desperate need of some offence and Zetterberg and Nyquist can provide it.

Nail Yakupov – vs. WSH – $4,100

Yakupov has two goals and three assists in his last three games and has clearly developed some nice chemistry with McDavid. Washington doesn’t give up a whole lot of goals when Holtby starts, but with Grubauer in goal, McDavid and Yakupov should find some cracks.

Cheap Options: Alex Semin – @ BUF – ($3,800) / Teemu Pulkkinen – @ CGY – ($3,000)

Defensemen

P.K Subban – @ BUF – $5,900

Subban is still in search of his first goal of the season despite having 16 shots in seven games. He does have five assists and his first goal can’t be too far around the corner. He has a superb matchup tonight, so number-1 could come this evening.

Mike Green – @ CGY – $4,900

Green has only five shots in six games which is surprising. He is also looking for his first goal of the year and in attempt to spark Green and Niklas Kronwall, head coach Jeff Blashill has paired them up tonight at even strength and on the power-play. Calgary has averaged over four goals against per game, so the Red Wings should have a big game.

Travis Hamonic – vs. BOS – $3,900

Hamonic continues to log big minutes and continues to shoot a tonne. Both recipes for big numbers especially in a game that has a chance to be extremely high scoring like the Bruins vs. Islanders game does tonight.

Cheap Options: Justin Schultz – vs. WSH – $3,600 Jeff Petry – @ BUF – $3,200

Goalies

Mike Condon – $7,200 – @ BUF

Condon had a strong preseason and strong regular season NHL debut and now he has arguably the best matchup available. With a powerful offence in front of him, he should be locked in for the win.

Jonathan Quick – $7,100 – vs. CAR

Even with a good matchup, Quick will likely be undervalued tonight because of his slow start. However, he has won two in a row while allowing just two goals and the Kings seem to have things figured out.

Cheap Option:  Anders Nilsson – vs. WSH – $6,200
