Fantasy Hockey Streaming Targets: Week 10

Fantasy Hockey Streaming Targets: Week 10

It’s another typical week in the NHL with Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday serving as the league’s busiest nights. In daily fantasy leagues, you want to get as many games into your lineup as possible to maximize your potential production. This week, that means targeting teams that play on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. I’ve gone over some of the best teams to target below, and the best options available. Good luck!

Colorado (3 games): Monday, Wednesday, Friday

The Avalanche are the only team that play on at least three of the league’s slower nights this week, making them the top team to target for streamers. With @Gabriel Landeskog and @Mikko Rantanen now back in the lineup, there isn’t as much streaming value to be found on Colorado’s roster, but there are still some decent options available. @Andre Burakovsky is available in just under half of Yahoo! leagues. Burakovsky is thriving in his first season in Colorado after being buried for years in Washington’s bottom-six. The 24-year-old Austrian native has 12 goals and 10 assists in 26 games on the year, but a 21.8 SH% and 12.4 on-ice SH% suggests regression is coming. Don’t expect this near point-per-game pace to continue, but he’s still worth stashing when the schedule lines up right.

Right in that same 50% ownership range is @Joonas Donskoi. Donskoi saw a surge in fantasy value with Landeskog and Rantanen sidelined as he jumped up to the top line and power-play unit. Like Burakovsky, regression is coming for Donskoi, but he still possesses some decent upside skating on the second line, and with @Nazem Kadri now out, Donskoi will remain on the top power-play unit for the time being. In deeper leagues, @J.T. Compher is worth a flier this week. He’s been seeing a lot of power-play time lately and will now fill in for Kadri as the second-line centre. Compher is currently available in 95% of Yahoo! leagues.

Philadelphia (3 games): Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday

The Flyers schedule lends itself to streaming this week with games on Wednesday and Sunday. Heading Philadelphia’s options on the waiver wire this week is @James van Riemsdyk. The 30-year-old has done his best to remain productive this season despite being limited to a bottom-six role. He’s managed six goals, eight assists, and an impressive 77 shots in 30 games despite averaging just 15:05 in ice-time. The lack of usage has resulted in JVR’s ownership falling all the way down to 25% in Yahoo! leagues, but there’s more than one reason for that to change this week. Philadelphia announced Monday that @Travis Konecny is out indefinitely after suffering a concussion in Saturday’s game against Ottawa. JVR is expected to take Konecny’s spot on the top line when the team takes on Colorado on Wednesday, making him an ideal streaming option this week.

Should van Riemsdyk be unavailable in your league, you can take a look at either @Oskar Lindblom (14% owned) or @Morgan Frost (4% owned). Lindblom’s strong two-way play has cemented himself a spot on @Sean Couturier’s left wing. He’s taken advantage of his increased ice-time, racking up 11 goals, seven assists, and 72 shots in 30 games this season. Lindblom could potentially also be in line for some more power-play time with Konecny sidelined. Frost has played well while centering Konecny and @Claude Giroux on the top line, but the puck hasn’t bounced his way. He’s registered an impressive 58.5 CF% and 25 shots on goal in 10 games but has suffered through a 4.5 on-ice SH%. Things are bound to turn for Frost sooner than later. He’s worth plugging into your lineup this week considering his current usage.

Vegas (4 games): Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday

If you want to wait and see how your matchup unfolds before making a move on the wire, Vegas is the team for you this week. After participating in Tuesday and Thursday’s 12-game slates, the Golden Knights become an excellent streaming target with games on Friday and Sunday. The free agent pool isn’t exactly chalk-full of Golden Knights, but there are two widely available members of their offense that are worth mentioning here. @Alex Tuch has looked great since returning from injury, totalling five goals and four assists in 15 games. His shot volume remains consistent despite being limited to bottom-six minutes. Fortunately for Tuch, he is seeing a lot of time on the man advantage where he’s already picked up two goals and two assists. He makes for a solid addition in the back-half of the week, currently available in 71% of leagues.

Finally, should Tuch be rostered in your league, @Paul Stastny is worth taking a run at this week. He’s had an underwhelming season up until this point, but the puck hasn’t exactly bounced his way. He’s registered an admirable 54.6 CF% but is being limited by a 6.6 on-ice SH%. Better puck luck is coming for Stastny, and his usage alone makes him worthy of a pickup this week. The 14-year veteran couldn’t ask for better line-mates as he centres @Max Pacioretty and @Mark Stone on the second line. Stastny is currently owned in just 24% of Yahoo! leagues.
