Fantasy Hockey: Week 15 Streaming Targets 🎯

Fantasy Hockey: Week 15 Streaming Targets 🎯

Using both our Weekly Schedule tool and the newly created Weekly Strength of Schedule Tool, I have identified which teams are the best to target for streaming players this week.

Below you will find some of the top streaming options for the week under 50 percent owned in Yahoo! fantasy leagues. Streaming a roster spot or two can help you maximize the number of games each week and increase your chances of winning the week.

Tyler Toffoli – MTL – LW/RW (42% Owned)

The Canadiens have the easiest fantasy schedule for skaters this week, playing four games (@MIN, vs. ANA, vs. EDM, vs. CBJ), and Toffoli has been terrific since re-joining the lineup on January 18th. Toffoli has picked up a point in each of his three games, scoring two goals with two assists (four points).

Toffoli is skating on the top line with Nick Suzuki and the top power-play unit, so usage (18:30 ATOI) will not be an issue for the 29-year-old.

Matt Boldy – MIN – LW (4% Owned)

Boldy is one of the top prospects in the NHL and has made an immediate impact in his first six career games. After scoring 10 goals with 18 assists (28 points) in his first 24 career AHL games, Boldy has tallied two goals and two assists in six games with Minnesota. Despite playing among a deep forward group, Boldy is averaging 16:52 TOI/gm. He’s shown instant chemistry with linemate Kevin Fiala and is being utilized on the top power-play unit.

Not only does Minnesota have the second easiest schedule of the week, but all three of their games come on the lighter nights of the week (MON, FRI, SUN), so you should have no problem getting Boldy into your lineup.

Boone Jenner – CBJ – C/LW (40% Owned)

Depending on your league settings, Jenner can contribute in a lot of fantasy categories. In his last six games, he has seven points (4G / 3A), 20 shots, eight hits, and 54 face-off wins. If you’re in standard leagues, he’s been a regular contributor, totaling 27 points (16G / 11A) and 102 shots in 38 games on the season. Columbus has the fourth-easiest schedule of the week, including games on Wednesday and Sunday. Jenner could help you finish the week on a strong note, playing in Montreal on Sunday.

Blake Coleman – CGY – LW/RW (26% Owned)

Coleman likely isn’t going to win you a week with his outstanding point-producing, but he can help in a lot of areas. Coleman plays on a heavily utilized second line with Mikael Backlund and has five points (3G / 2A) in his last seven games while averaging an impressive 4.6 shots and 2.3 hits per game. The Flames have the fifth-easiest schedule and four games this week. You’ll be able to get him into your lineups on Monday and Wednesday and can try to squeeze him in later in the week or drop him mid-week for someone like Boldy, who plays Friday and Sunday.

Erik Haula – BOS – C/LW (10% Owned)

The Bruins have the perfect streaming schedule this week, playing on all four of the lighter days. Haula doesn’t see much (if any) power-play time but is still skating with David Pastrnak and Taylor Hall at 5v5. After posting just five points in his first 26 games, Haula has accumulated nine points (2G / 7A) in his last 11 games.

Craig Smith – BOS – RW (7% Owned)

Like Haula, Smith continues to skate in a top-6 role with the Bruins. The point production hasn’t always been there, but he’s a reliable source of shots. In January, Smith has six points (3G / 3A) while averaging 2.8 shots per game in 12 games. Brad Marchand, Patrick Bergeron and, Smith are averaging a whopping 42.0 Scoring Chances For/60. Smith should have plenty of chances during the four-game week.

Valeri Nichushkin – COL – LW/RW (20% Owned)

Colorado’s strength of schedule is a little more difficult than others on this list, but they have four games, and all of them are on the lighter days. Staying in the lineup has been Nichushkin’s only issue this season, but he’s been extremely effective when he plays. The big Russian winger has 19 points (11G / 8A) in 23 games while averaging 18:24 TOI/gm and playing primarily on a line with Nazem Kadri and Andre Burakovsky–a line that is averaging 32.8 Scoring Chances For/60.

Denis Gurianov – DAL – LW/RW (13% Owned)

The Stars were a one-line team for the first three months of the season, but Gurianov, Tyler Seguin and, Jamie Benn have started to come on recently. Gurianov has scored two goals on 20 shots with six assists in his last seven games. With a deadly shot, averaging nearly 3.0 shots per game is a good sign for Gurianov. Dallas has some tough matchups this week but four games, including games on Monday, Friday and, Sunday.
