Flames Release Fleury

theorenfleuryopcPoor guy.  We were all hoping he’d get to suit up for at least one regular season game but unfortunately he’s not going to be a part of the Flames plans moving forward.  In an interesting response from GM Darryl Sutter, Fleury had to be one of the Flames’ top six forwards in order to stick with the team and was not interested in being assigned to the AHL.  Fleury will decide on Monday whether he will pursue other options in the NHL or retire.  While he likely won’t have any fantasy implications on any team, it would still be nice to see him accomplish his wish of leaving the game on his own terms!
