Forsberg Likely to Return on Thursday

Forsberg Likely to Return on Thursday

Nashville Predators forward @Filip Forsberg is expected to return to the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Calgary Flames. Head coach Peter Laviolette would not confirm Forsberg’s status, only saying there was a good chance he returns. He missed the last six games with a lower-body injury. All signs point to him returning, and what better time than on Filip Forsberg bobblehead night.

Lineup Implications

Forsberg’s return will force @Kyle Turris back into the bottom-six. Turris was centering @Matt Duchene and @Mikael Granlund on the Preds’ second line in Forsberg’s absence. He will skate on the fourth line tonight. Duchene will now shift back to centre, with Granlund and Forsberg on his wings. The three of them form Nashville’s most productive offensive line at 5v5, averaging over 30 scoring and 13 high-danger chances per 60. The top line of @Calle Jarnkrok, @Ryan Johansen, and @Viktor Arvidsson will remain intact. Puck drop for Thursday’s game against Calgary is 8:00 PM EST.
