FYI: Los Angeles Kings Goaltending Confirms

With the recent emergence of Martin Jones and Ben Scrivens in the absence of Jonathan Quick, fantasy owners have been very eager to see the Kings’ goalie CONFIRMED.

I have fielded a large number of Tweets that read “who is starting for the Kings?”. The truth of the matter is that the Kings’ coach Darryl Sutter does not name a starting goalie. When they have a morning skate, the goalie who leaves the ice first is the starter 98% of the time.

If you have a Kings netminder, unfortunately throughout the season you are going to have to wait until 30 minutes prior to puck-drop (when the team hits the ice for warmups) to officially see who is starting (the goalie who leads the team onto the ice). I will continue to post LIKELY’s on the goalie who leaves the ice first and you can be pretty confident that he will get the nod, but it is nothing firm.

The Kings are in action tonight vs. the Dallas Stars at 10:30 p.m EST, so the goalie will be known at 10:00 p.m. Please monitor the STARTING GOALIES page for the announcement.
