Timo Meier (undisclosed) left the Devils' game Saturday with an injury and did not practice Tuesday.

Meier's status for the Devil's next game on Wednesday, January 3rd is up in the air after he exited Saturday's contest against the Boston Bruins in the third period, playing only 12:30 time-on-ice. Before his injury, Meier had four points (4G / 0A) in four games after being held without a point in nine straight.

Igor Shesterkin was the first goalie off the ice at the Rangers' morning skate.

Shesterkin has been terrific over the last several weeks and will likely start for the second consecutive game on Tuesday. Shesterkin has won five straight games, allowing two or fewer in four, posting a remarkable .946 SV%, a sign that he is back to his Vezina-caliber form after an inconsistent first portion of the season, posting a .902 SV% in his first 17 games (10-7-0). The Rangers are slight -113 home favourites against a Carolina Hurricanes team that has won three straight, outscoring their opposition 13-7.

Igor Shesterkin
Bryan Rust (upper body) is expected to return to the Penguins' lineup Tuesday vs. Washington.

Rust has missed ten straight games for the Penguins after suffering an upper-body injury on December 6th. Rust's return to the ice and full participation in line rushes is an encouraging sign for the Penguins, with all signs pointing to his return on Tuesday night. Before his injury, Rust was having a terrific season, scoring 20 points (10G / 10A) in 22 games.

Bryan Rust
Moser (upper-body) will be back in the Coyotes' lineup on Tuesday.

Moser has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury and only played 7:10 before exiting the Coyotes' December 23rd contest. The 23-year-old Moser has 15 points (3G / 12A) while averaging 19:38 time-on-ice through 33 games this season. He has played most of the season as Sean Durzi's defensive partner.

J.J. Moser
Vejmelka will start Tuesday vs. the Panthers.

The Coyotes have returned to evenly rotating their goalies as Vejmelka will return to the crease on Tuesday and start for the fourth time in their last eight games. Vejmelka's increase in playing time has been a direct result of his elevated play, saving 93 of the last 99 shots he has faced (.939 SV%) over his last four games (4-0-0). The Coyotes are +145 home underdogs against a Florida Panthers team that has won four straight, outscoring their opposition 15-9.

Karel Vejmelka
Kuraly (abdominal injury) is expected to miss two weeks.

Kuraly was helped off the ice after playing only 4:21 in the Blue Jackets December 23rd contest and was taken to hospital, where he was discharged shortly after testing. After further evaluations, Kuraly will be out of the lineup for approximately two weeks with an abdominal injury. In 35 games this season, Kuraly has 11 points (6G / 5A) while playing predominantly on a line with Alexandre Texier and Justin Danforth.

Sean Kuraly
Ferraro left Sunday's game with an upper-body injury and is questionable to play Tuesday.

Ferraro left Sunday's game with just 4:09 TOI and did not return. The Sharks did not practice on Monday, so they have yet to provide an update on Ferrraro's status. Consider him questionable to play Tuesday until the Sharks release an update.

Mario Ferraro
The Golden Knights have recalled Dysin Mayo from Henderson (AHL).

Mayo had three goals, five assists, 18 PIMs and a -2 plus/minus in 30 games to start the season with Henderson (AHL) but has earned his first call-up of the season Monday to Vegas. The 27-year-old appeared in 15 games with Arizona in 2022-23 but failed to pick up a point while collecting eight PIMs in a lowly 11:41 TOI/GP.

Dysin Mayo
The Maple Leafs have loaned Ilya Samsonov to Toronto (AHL).

Samsonov cleared waivers and has been loaned to the Toronto Marlies (AHL) as he tries to recover his game. The 26-year-old who carries a $3.5 million cap hit heads to the AHL for the first time since 2020-21 where he appeared in four games with the Hershey Bears. Samsonov was waived originally by Toronto due to his poor 5-2-6 record, 3.94 GAA and .862 SV%.

Ilya Samsonov
The Blackhawks have placed Tyler Johnson (undisclosed) on IR.

Johnson was forced out of Chicago's game Sunday vs. Dallas due to an undisclosed injury and has been placed on the Injured Reserve. The 33-year-old veteran joins a long list of injuries out in Chicago after starting his season well with nine goals, 13 points, 16 PIMsand 58 SOG in 35 games played prior to the injury.

Tyler Johnson
Kaprizov (upper-body) is expected to miss 1-to-2 weeks.

The Wild announced Monday a pair of massive injuries as both Kirill Kaprizov and Filip Gustavsson will be away from the team for weeks due to injury. Kaprizov (upper body) left Minnesota's December 30th game after just 15:30 TOI and is now expected to miss the next 1-to-2 weeks. The 26-year-old's absence will make a massive loss as he had 13 goals, 34 points and 110 SOG in 34 games played this year.
