Montembeault's last start was interesting; he started, was pulled, and then returned to the crease while failing to pick up a decision in a 9-5 loss to Florida while stopping 21 of 24 shots (.875 SV%). The 26-year-old has been the better of the two Montreal netminders this season, with his 13-13-3 record, 3.34 GAA and .904 SV%. He will face Tampa Bay, who has won their last two games and are seventh in the NHL in goals-per-game.

Wade Allison is expected to return to the Flyers' lineup Friday (undisclosed).

Allison has missed the Flyers' previous three games due to an undisclosed injury but is expected to return to the lineup Friday as they take on Buffalo. The 25-year-old has eight goals, five assists, 65 SOG, 34 PIMs and a +5 plus/minus through 45 games this season.

Hutchinson allowed four goals on 23 shots (.826 SV%) in his only start of the season as he lost to St. Louis his last time starting. The 33-year-old has played in four games this season, relieving the starter in three of those contests and posting a 0-1-1 record, with a 3.67 GAA and .886 SV% along the way. He takes on Anaheim, who have lost four of their last five games and are 31st in the NHL in goals per game (2.53).

The Sabres have signed Devon Levi to a three-year entry-level contract.

Levi was selected in the seventh-round of the 2020 draft and was traded to the Sabres as a part of the deal that sent Sam Reinhart to the Panthers. Levi is widely considered one of the best goaltending prospects in the NHL and went 17-12-5 with a 2.24 GAA, .933 SV% and six shutouts in 34 games with Northeastern University this season.

Drouin has a goal, 25 assists, 60 SOG, 14 PIMs and a -14 plus/minus through 46 games this season but is in jeopardy of being benched Saturday after he was late for the Canadiens' team meeting Friday. Montreal should release whether the 27-year-old is playing or not prior to warmup.

The 24-year-old has been one of the NHL's best netminders this season, with his 17-8-5 record, 2.01 GAA and .931 SV%. He will take on the league-leading Boston Bruins, who snapped a two-game losing skid with a 3-0 victory over Winnipeg in their last game and are second in the NHL in goals per game (3.72).
